You have GOT to be kidding me. This is what happens when classical music is played by musicians who are NOT classically trained - at least the drummer sure ain't.
One of the qualities that makes most of ELO's music so unique is the fact that the musicians ARE classically trained. This track, however, is probably one of the worst examples of this. They weren't afraid to experiment, but this is an experiment gone terribly wrong.
'tis shite.
Sounds like "Hooked on Classics"
at the first few notes, I thought maybe it was Trans Siberian Orch.... This is really no good, sorry to say. To speed things up maybe Bill could play Savatage's (now Trans Siberian) version of Krieg's classic...
Please ... ! Play a REAL version of In the Hall of the Mountain King! And by that I mean the real classical version. Now that would really rock.
anyone else think that this sounded remarkably like the theme to inspector gadget played over and over again. this song made me want to throw things.

Used to like ELO, but this sounds like the high school "talent" show.
Not too fond of this version, but I found an import LP years ago called "The Night The Light Went On (in Long Beach)". Had an outstanding version of this tune. And I just checked Amazon, no such luck on an album of this name...
just not good.

Then maybe you're on the wrong station. Try: https://shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=5999&file=filename.pls
:-s Well at least they're not subjecting us to the ELO warbling.

Well, ok...now it's getting a little interesting.... ....oh....maybe not.....

Cuts like a dull knife......no more please!
Blecccccccccccch.
The Who do a much better job at this than ELO.
Bleah. Terrible. I used to think ELO was cool before I'd actually listened to classical music.
Sweet.
