Big blue in a gasfield, you caught me lying
Pathetic religion of sex and crying
I nailed the door shut to leave you blind
I nailed the door shut for peace of mind

You were the best love I ever had
You hit me high, you hit me low
Time doesn't slow down for those who dream
I wake only to hear this scream

Hot and cold in the goldmine, the diamond legs
After she hit me off, I just had to beg
I nailed the door shut to leave you blind
I nailed the door shut for peace of mind

You were the best love I ever had
You hit me high, you hit me low
Time doesn't slow down for those who dream
I wake only to hear this scream

You were the best love I ever had
You hit me high, you hit me low
Time doesn't slow down for those who dream
I wake only to hear this scream

You were the best love I ever had
You hit me high, you hit me low
Time doesn't slow down for those who dream
I wake only to hear this scream

Love is the only incident
An infatuation
Is this sweet manipulation?
Well, I was frightened myself
What is love?
It's a fine inclination
A lovely retardation
What is life but a reality vacation?
Indulging operation
What is love?
The worthiest damnation
Sweet temptation
What is love?

Sounds like Pavlov's Dog from the late seventies.

Thanks for the warning.
The best song of an otherwise mediocre album.
Quite good, it has lots of Bowie-influence on it.
Reminds me a lot of starsailor
The lyrics are fantastic and imaginative. The music is powerful and beautiful. This is an underrated song.

Low rating for such a good song.
I agree! It just struck me how much I like this song, and how many times I must have heard it on RP, and never clicked on it! I gave it a "7"!
Hoping for a new release from these guys! Superb fun live and loads of great songs on this cd. Beck session musicians.
Low rating for such a good song.

Forgive me - it has to be said - ima likin' this.
Quite good.

Bill's been playing this for as long as I've been here, and it's one of those I wasn't sure of the first few times, but now it's great. Wonderful dynamics.
Sometimes I like it. Sometimes I hate it. I never love it. Kinda like a Butterfinger.

Would that be Joey Waronker?
Oh, yeah -- I'm talking about Joey.
yay, long time since I heard Ima on RP. Hoho, nice.

I agree--with the first half. There are reasons I'm not a big Rush fan, but Geddy Lee's voice isn't one of them--this is pretty good, I think.
I dunno...hearing this song right after "Heroes" kind of reveals exactly how much of a ripoff Ima Robot's "Scream" is when compared to said song by David Bowie. Granted, there are a lot of much worse songs to be "inspired" by (read: steal from), but still. :p

Compelling. Turn up the DBs

He's now moved on. Most of the band members are younger then him and he couldn't handle the "startup band" touring schedule. He's damn popular as a studio drummer though -- you will see him on all sorts of different albums. But I think he's extremely tired of touring now. :)

complete dreck.
Hrrm.... I think I would really enjoy this song a lot if someone else was singing.

Great tune, great song.. "Let's talk turkey" is very good as well... Promising band
I like it too. I think my favourite from the album is "A is for action". First heard of them right here. :)

Heh, all this time I thought this band hailed from the 80s, based upon the sound.

I agree. I don't hear Geddy Lee. If I had to compare it to something it would be that he sounds like a male Yoko Ono. It's not the higher pitch in the voice that bothers me. It's the excessive "vibrato" that I hear in it.
Geddy Lee is one hot chick!!
This guy(?) has a seriously annoying voice.
The Geddy Lee reference is especially in the somewhat forced, high vibrato, I think.

The Geddy Lee refs baffle me, btw. I spent my pre-adolescence through early 20s immersed in Rush, and I just don't hear the similarity.

same here, redeyespy, same here. i think it's funny - anytime i hear an artist that has a singer with a slightly higher-than-average voice, i always check out the song comments just to see how many people have compared the band to Rush already.

Sorry...

Sounds like freakin' Geddy Lee by himself. Kinda reminds me why I detest Rush.
I love this whole cd. Esp. this song and 12=3. Reminds me of P.I.L. too.
This is a great number, but the CD is very disappointing!
Can't handle the girly-man voice.

Way COOL, Wiz!! Tell us more!!
This song gets stuck in my head for days at a time. The only thing that makes it bad is that I don't have the CD to 'scratch the itch'. Edit: Does it sound like their spoofing the Smashing Pumpkins at the end of this song??
ok but it don't float my boat I give it a 4.5 nice but you can't dance to it

I have listened to it daily at the gym since Sept....it wears extremely well :-) Excellent band.
This is a great song. Some glam rock influence along with a bunch of other stuff. Good stuff...

Nice resume he's working on between this and Beck :) Definitely not gonna be everyone's cup o' tea, but I liked most of this album, particularly Ex Girlfriends in Black Jettas

This song rocks!
First time I have heard this song....pretty cool....
This song might be trying to combine too many different styles. I would have preferred five or so distinct songs, for the different tastes. When will you be playing Siouxsie Sioux....? To piggyback on another's comment.
I love this MORE and MORE!
THIS SONG OWNS!!!! I hate that term but had to use it. The album is amazing. This song is my fave from it though. Keep em coming.
Maybe his first love left him cause he's so whiney. ...just kidding....this is a good song.
What a chorus! What a song! :nodhead:
The voice-style at the very opening of the song reminds me a bit of Johnny Lydon's P.I.L.
Sounds like the vocalist would dearly like to be Gary Numan circa 1979. As if the name wasn't enough of a give away of that.
Sounds kind of like Siouxsie Sioux....
I don't know this band very well...have heard a few tracks here...I must say I love this guy's glam falsetto....I WILL be checking these guys out in more detail.
Love this song, love this album. I can't say enough about this album, fun, fun fun. Check out the song Dirty Life, very glam.
This is my step-brother Joey's new band venture. (He's the drummer.)
