Ho hum...the perfect rating and description. At least with Elvis this would have been original.

Guessing you have no clue how many of Elvis's songs weren't his.

I have this album. A bit hit/miss but the Blasters stuff is great. Still one of my favorite movies of all time. Jimmy2000 wrote:

I first heard the Blaster's in the movie "Streets of Fire" which came out in 1984. They were the band in a bar scene in the movie. Can't remember which song they were playing but I remember liking it enough to watch the credits and find out who they were and to go get a couple of their albums. Streets of Fire - great movie! The song was "One Bad Stud", and they also did "Blue Shadows". Great tunes, and well used in the flick. I remember the close up of the lead singer - sweating like a pig and either bald or with a bad combover, I believe. Bad, stiff acting, but it worked because it was supposed to be like a comic book. Thanks for the association. I never would have noticed the connection!

Hot Damn!!!
From Sonny Landreth to The Blasters! Great stuff!

Never saw the Blasters live but had the fortune to see Dave Alvin, Mojo Nixon and Country Dick Montana perform as the Pleasure Barons. Start with some Blasters, add some Mojo with a pinch of Beat Farmers. Shake well. Serve smokin' hot.

They also had a song used in Miami Vice back when Miami Vice was a source of music from off the beaten path.
I am a huge Blasters fan, so I kept my memories of live shows to myself (that is, I didn't want to buy this album). But this track is great! *breaks down and puts it on his "to buy" list*
