Piano Lessons that paid off.
This is song is some sort of superlative.  It's the best of something.  I just can't decide what it is the best of.

Wailin' good fun.  Made me wonder if there was some other old-timey great tunes, either in original form or covered by others. Sadly, a search for "Scott Joplin", "Maple Leaf Rag", "Root Beer Rag" and variations on all of them didn't get any hits.

Toes tapping, head bouncing, first time in weeks I had to get up from my work bench and see who it was.
Thank you, Bill!
Fine!

Love it! 10!!
My sister and I had to play this as a duet for a piano recital. Our mom stood over us with a flyflap when we practiced to keep us from fighting.  We are long grown now and we played it for our mom during a family get together (we didnt kick each other on the piano bench this time.) Mom just cried and cried, hopefully she was just wistful for our childhood again and not because we hurt her ears so bad! So any song that makes mom cry gets a 10 in my book!
Oh man, this is good stuff!!{#Bananapiano}

Indeed, and how about some Mary Ford?

Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Earl Hines, Art Tatum, Willie "The Lion" Smith and, of course, Fats Waller knew about James P.Johnson. Regarding him not only as their musical father but also as the greatest pianist in jazz. Later, even modernists like Thelonious Monk and Bud Powell would admit to his influence.

Amazon has a page for the album. They don't have it themselves at this time, but you can purchase it used from other sellers.
This is great but I'm at work and it makes me feel like I should have a cold beer in my hand! :) Thanks, this is awesome stuff.

Pretty sure I have this in a collection of ole Blues songs somewhere in the ole pianee bench. I'll have a boo and see if I can find it...assuming you're looking for the piano music and not the horns.
Follow it with Oscar Petersen's "Mumbles" por favor.
slartibart_0 you've taken your comments away. I was enjoying them.
Fun!
My 8-year-old daughter is dancing in the kitchen right now.
Someone, please let me know where I can find this song. I don't care what format.

Still like to find this gem when I get off my desk from Juke Joint Jumpin!
If you're not tapping your foot right now, you're clinically dead.
If this is "Classic Rock"...then Pavarotti was one hell of a metal frontman!!!

"Hey, what's all this boogie woogie music? I like it!!"
fabulous segue from LJB
Guess I just don't "get" this. No, just kidding! Reminds me of sitting next to my dad at jazz concerts with his fingers snapping louder than I thought possible. Thanks!

Too short!!! But very, very sweet!
Who doesn't love some swinging jazz? This is great, just the reason to listen to RP.
Jim Cox did a variation of this on the soundtrack to the movie "The Majestic." The soundtrack has some really nice songs on it, including Nat King Cole and the Mills Brothers, as well as some nice foot-stomping instrumentals. Check it out - it's worth a listen
Good Mix! keep em' coming.
sweeeeeeeet time to dance

Nice.... I used to know a couple of people way back when that played like piano like that. It was the most amazing experience to stand around listening and watching them as they played. So much energy...
SO fine!
Ahhhh, that was FINE ... and then: Little Feat. I've died and gone to music paradise!
doo wop till ya drop
Nice to hear something upbeat and bouncy Thanks RP
Thanks! This is waking me up from my Martha Wainwright induced stupor.
I'm, uh, likin' this!
Reminds me of the music I heard growning up. My Dad was a huge big band fan. This is real nice!

Folks are always writing notes to Bill congratulating him on the wonderful transitions and how well the songs fit together. Well, in this case going from Martha Wainwright to James Johnson had to be one of the most jarring transitions I've heard on this station. But I love them both - so who cares! I'll take the RP eclecticism any day.
How do I get it to play? I can't hear it...
Volume up, dogs start barking, all boogie! Good brain break, thanks!
Yeah. More stride. More Boogie
