Absolutely LOVE this song......those chiming guitars.

This song is on the album 'Spooky' which came out in 1992.  Helped me through my turbulent adolescence!!

It's weird how I;m drawn to vocals washed out by the guitar. Wouldn't be able to say what is being sung, but it doesn't seem to matter.

I've always known of Lush — mostly the song from the Levi commercial (Undertow remix) and the other one that got airplay "Ladykillers", but I never really explored their albums in depth.  This is sounding very fresh!!  Might have to remedy my oversight....

Love "500" off of Lovelife the best.

The first time I heard that on the radio (and the last), my wife and I were driving back from a wedding in Colorado in July of 2000.
I was scanning the FM dial, driving back in the very northern part of Newer Mexico, and that song faded in from some independent station from who knows where.
I was struggling to hear the end of it so I could get the name of it.
I lucked out when the DJ said it on the higher end of the fade.
When I got home, I went to the local record store and ordered it.
Then uploaded it to R. Paradise...where it got the boot. {#Lol}

Cocteau Twins... Lush... now the High Violets. I'll always be a sucker for the bands that can pull off this swirling, soaring sound so beautifully. I couldn't agree more. One of the band members (the drummer I think) tragically took his own life and they broke up. Not sure what the lead singer is doing now, I think she's put out a solo album, but am not sure... Great band, though. All of their CD's (sadly, there weren't that many) have something to recommend them.

Just tuned in to RP, heard this song, said to myself, "Oh, I *know* this sound... who is it?" Clicked on the playlist... aha, of course, it's Lush! Scrolled down to read the mere 27 comments and to my surprise, I posted the first comment 3 1/2 years ago. And I'd say the same thing today. I just adore their sound, but I never hear them anywhere (not even here on RP). Bill, please play them more often!

These folks haven't received the airplay they have deserved (tho MTV did show videos for 3-4 cuts back in the day when videos were actually played). Every album is good despite some muddy production work in places. Great stuff!
