Hush little baby don't cry like that
God's gonna buy you a Cadillac
He's chosen you to do his will
You can spread the word in your coupe de ville

So jump in the river and learn to swim
God's gonna wash away all your sins
And if you still can't see the light
God's gonna buy you a satellite

Look to the heavens and see it shine
Heals the sick and leads the blind
Tune it in and hear it say
It's countin' down to judgment day

So jump in the river and learn to swim
God's gonna wash away all your sins
And if you still can't see the light
God's gonna buy you a satellite

Hey satellite man your time has come
Your word received by everyone
And should you fall, well that's ok
You love the ones that you betray

So jump in the river and learn to swim
God's gonna wash away all your sins
And when at last you see the light
God's gonna buy you a satellite

Love the Hooter's....
Cheeze-ball. But I do admit their song 500 Miles is a guilty pleasure of mine.
Another cut song?
When I was in high schooll in N.J. , these guys had a contest to see who had the the most school spirit and votes. The winner had the Hooters play at their school. We lost. Oh well, they suck anyway.
OMG. I haven't heard this in YEARS! :D

A.) they hardly qualify as a hairband (just because they had long hair is not enough to qualify them...many had long hair then. The hairband IMO was a group of musicians that were all prettyboy image and had little talent. such as Poison, Warrant, etc. The Hooters were quite talented writers and musicians...they actually were Cyndi Lauper's back-up band before they became a self contained writing and perfoming entity. Incidently...I have come to a level of respect for Cydni over the years. One of the reasons for this, was seeing her version of Strawberry Fields when she took part in a Lennon tribute. B.) not that it would be a big scandal if they were but..They were not a "Christian" band I had the album with some of their biggest hits on it and they had no religious "message" I believe you are remembering their hit "all you Zombies" which has some references to Moses etc... but in the last verse, The speaker angrily says seemingly to God..."Holy Father what's the matter, where have all your children gone, sittin in the dark, livin all by themselves,You don't have to hide anymore!" ...I submit that this is hardly a lyric that Jerry Falwell would be comfortable with.
Yay!!!!!! thanks. Always one of my favorite 'happy bands'. Pop-rock goes intelligent! :D
