This a catchy song. Just like when Ian Anderson wrote it for Jethro Tull for Stand Up album, "We Used to Know"(1969). It was catchy when the Eagles did it as "Hotel California". It's solid. The musicians have decided.

Didn't expect to hear FC on RP, though I'm not surprised. 
Listened to this album a lot when it came out and it's indelibly associated for me with holidays in France. It's also a great record. I encourage you to seek out translations and enjoy while listening along if you don't speak French. Also beautifully recorded and produced.

I'm thinkin' about the matador in that Alt J tune...
Ms. Francis Cabrel 's Corrida has an awful similarity to German ""BAB Bandleaders Wolgang Niedekken's work, his almost spoken songs are a little bit earlier. Maybe RP should make an exception and play ""Cristallnach"" once a while, the heftiest political European rock-pop song of early '70-s! PK

I remember hearing this song when it came out, I was working as a tour guide in Provence southern France at the time. The message was at odds with the popular bull-fighting culture of the day: the song was considered avant-garde and was not that well received in some circles as I recall. Beautiful music though, I give it an 8. Still gives me chills even after all these years.
Reference is made in a comment below to the expression in French to sleep on one's two ears, meaning to sleep soundly. This is true in a general sense, but when applied to bull fighting there is another meaning altogether. When a torero succeeds in putting down the bull with artistry, he can be awarded one of the bull's ears. When his performance is deemed exceptional, he is awarded both ears. Thus when Cabrel's bull is saying the torero's wife will sleep on his, the torero's, two ears (ses deux oreilles), what is meant is that the bull intends to dispatch said torero in no uncertain fashion.
