Diito that! I'm all for using original and/or authentic bluegrass/mountain musicians to sing these old time songs. They are the largely undiscovered treasures of America.
You know, I thought the film missed the boat on putting him in the movie. They missed the chance to showcase a true talent that has been doing this music because it is part of their lives, not because it's cool at the time and landed them a movie role. They could have found a genuine contemporary mountain musician to do the part Jack White played in the movie.
