This is a Pretty Good start to a song. The basic guitar work is nice. The singing is meh and the lyrics are monotonous, though

I see what you mean AMG: "and earned him comparisons to such new wave singer/songwriters as Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson" That is definitely overrating him. Edit: But maybe they were bad comparisons... it doesn't really make that clear.

do you mean that being a Minnesotan is overrated ? Or do you mean it's overrated being a native? Perhaps you meant that being both a native, and Minnesotan is where things went awry... Personally, I've always thought that Jello Pudding Pops were overrated...

I was tending bar at a music bar called The Cabooze in Minneapolis back in the 80's when this guy was with a group called Sussman Lawrence. He was boring then, he's boring now.
