RP has a soft spot for these simpleton instrumentals with endlessly repeating Mary-Had-A-Little-Lamb melodies. At least we get to hear Satie and Chopin once in a while. Who gives this a 10?!

I'm sure I've posted this already, but this song always takes me back to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, where my late brother and I would hear this played live by the "Telluride All-Stars" as they were later referred to (same musicians). Blissful.

This is exquisite.... Even though the sky's blue, the air is clear and cold, and it's still autumn, this song somehow fits perfectly.  I do believe I'll have to max out my plastic (again!) and invest in this... Very ethereal and gentling...

Five of the finest musicians to ever have touched their instruments. A monumental CD in the acoustic/bluegrass/americana arena. And there so many better choices to play on this CD. This is quite nice however, Thanks RP.

Its 4:45AM PDST and I am doing my normal get ready to go to work and this song is playing. To me its one of those stop what you are doing and listen ones. I immediatly think of Jerry Douglas and "bingo" it is with all kinds of talent. Started my Monday off great. Everybody, have a great day!

These guys are all masters on their own. Edgar Meyer, the bass player, has an incredible range. I once saw him perform with the Britt Festival Symphony and he knocked me out. He has also been in a number of other small groups including YoYo Ma, Jerry Douglas, and Bela Fleck, as well as a number of solo recordings. You can't go wrong playing anything that he has recorded.

I saw these guys play this live way back in nineteen hundred and ninety. Amazing show. Alison Krauss and Union Station opened up for them. She must have been about nineteen or something. Cute as hell even then. Anyway, I'm rambling.

I think that they actually have two studio albums and I have an unreal bootleg from Telluride during a Sam Bush show. Telluride, famous for walk ons, should be a destination for anyone who digs Strength in Numbers... Also Bela and Edgar have a couple of killer albums bending toward classical interpertations.
