This album is a grand achievement. Nearly every song is simple poetry. This and "Slow Like Honey" are gems.

The first taste tends to be ... intoxicating ... 
this voice is Heavenly! it becomes a ten with that fine instrumentation, silky smooooooth

Haven't heard this in a while. Looking forward to Fiona Apple's new album this year.
I remember buying Tidal and seeing printed: FEATURING: Shadow Boxer, Criminal, and First Taste. This made me excited about the song but was kind of let down; especially with Never Is A Promise coming on right after, but it may have only been my expectation.
Anyway, I still love the song-
