The clock struck midnight
And through my sleeping
I heard a tapping at my door
I looked but nothing lay in the darkness
And so I turned inside once more

To my amazement
There stood a raven
Whose shadow hung above my door
Then through the silence
It spoke that one word
That I shall hear forever more

Nevermore
Thus quoth the raven, nevermore

And still the raven remains in my room
No matter how much I implore
No words can soothe him
No prayer remove him
And I must hear for evermore

Quoth the raven, nevermore
Thus quoth the raven
Nevermore

Thank dog for my 'favorite option', I get to hear this song..

I love ravens and I do like this song! {#Clap} The whole album actually!

Hmm. This is a blast from the past, right enough. I'm not sure, having read Edgar Allan Poe's stories, including The Raven, that this 'project' really captures the sheer obsession and fear in the story. IMO the Simpsons version is a far better rendering (and I'm not joking). 5 from the Nottingham jury.

This was fun back in the late 1970's - now it sounds a little juvenile and dated to me, but it's good to hear anyway.

To all you who remember this from days gone by....... we are kindred spirits! Crank it like you did in the dorm!!

Now that's a vocoder!   {#Yell}

Heard the first few notes and knew exactly what it was....the brain cells still connect!
not, these 3 albums far too sugary, try I Robot crockydile wrote:
Nice. If you like this, I recommend Eve, Pyramania and Turn of a Friendly Card. {#Cool}

awesome! Still one of my favorites, though this from the cd, which is a different mix (guitar added) from the original vinyl, still have the original first release album, with all the liner notes artwork and lyrics.
Loved this album.  Reminds me of watching Vincent Price in The Raven and other Edgar Allen Poe movies on the weekends when nothing else was on.

Please play this song nevermore.

Wow!!  I think I went through this album and a lot of other things back in the day.
Ha!

I loved the first two Alan Parson's Project albums!
Wow.  I haven't heard this since . . . um . . . you know . . . (circa 1979).

Could be.
Think I was taking the same drugs he was.

If you were stuck in a dormitory in the late 70's, you certainly would have gotten a taste of this and several other ditties from Mr. Parsons wafting out of rooms (along with other "distinctive" smells).

Yes, please decrease the period for this one Bill.  It's been too long since last played...

Apparently Bill's programmed this for playing once every 5 years.

Always liked this album more than the later ones.

I had forgotten about this great song by an extraordinary group.  Thanks for digging it up!

Though it's never been played on RP I just thought I'd mention how much I like The Alan Parsons Project and especially this song. Oh to hear it just one time.
