What would you say if you knew what I was thinking?
Maybe you do, but you know not to dig too deep
What if i knew what you needed for sure?
I've seen in your eyes you need more, much more

And I could be happy, and you could be miserable
I'll grab a metaphor out of the air
The Cuyahoga River on fire

What can you say? The impossible happens
What can you settle for?
What can you live without?
I remember the night I first darkened your door
And I swore that I loved you
My heart was pure

You could be happy, and I could be miserable

My open window, a dream in the dark
My fingers, your face
A spark, a trace

I know a lot about the history of Cleveland, Ohio
Disasters that have happened there
Like the Cuyahoga River on fire

Geez.... Set the CD on fire please.
The only thing that's annoying me about this song is the subtle notes on the piano sound like I have new email in my Inbox. So I go to check Outlook, and there's nothing there. Its more Windows' fault than REM's, but it's still annoying.

Stipe! Stipe! get out of my head
REM + Sonic Youth?
Haunting and weird and unsettling - very nice :)

Thanks for uploading this gem of a song. "DIG" is one of my favorite albums. RIP Gene

The Cuyahoga river is famous for being so polluted that it caught fire (more than once, apparently): (click here) REM also has a song called "Cuyahoga." It's on my favorite album of theirs, Life's Rich Pageant.
Boy, CLeveland will never live that down, will they. Randy Newman also has a song about the Cuyahoga burning called Burn On
make it stop.

Who the hell do you think you are? Quite a deal of Michael Stipe sound-alike on RP lately. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Just expressing an opinion, maybe It just didn't strike me that day. What's that tripe he does at the very end of the song?
I really like this suits my mood

Yeah. I thought it was REM at first. Good song.
Wow. This is the song that drew me to RP. Someone mentioned RP to me, and I started listening yesterday. When this song came on, it really caught my attention. The pacing, the rising and falling of the tone, the mellow voice, then the "alien sounds" at the end really captured my attention. But I am a sucker for acoustic guitar, cello, and humbucker guitar sounds. Sad song, but have no idea what it's about. -TU

This isn't Michael Stipe?
I was liking this until the alien sounds at the end -a little offputting, but overall pretty nice.

Shades of Richard Shindell
Woohoo! My first submission and it gets added. I feel so special. For those of you new to Adam Again, this song originally appeared on the album "Dig", which you can buy at the link above. - Jasen.
