I saw this guy in concert in Germany back in 1997. Back then he was a grung/punk artist and the show was very entertaining. I liked him better back then.

Yes. Haunting. To me, its connected with seeing just beyond--with moments of deep longing and seeing, only to be gone again--snatched just beyond your grasp. And to remain a memory. A personal interpretation from its place as a soundtrack song in one life, but I can understand why it was used in the X-Files for that scene.
