Lips are turning blue
A kiss that can't renew
I only dream of you
My beautiful

Tiptoe to your room
A starlight in the gloom
I only dream of you
And you never knew

Sing for absolution
I will be singing
And falling from your grace

There's no where left to hide
In no one to confide
The truth burns deep inside
And will never die

Lips are turning blue
A kiss that can't renew
I only dream of you
My beautiful

Sing for absolution
I will be singing
And falling from your grace

Sing for absolution
I will be singing
And falling from your grace

Our wrongs remain unrectified
And our souls
Won't be exhumed

Wonderful! And aged pretty well.
Make it stop.
Horrible.
Well I don't care who it may sound like.....I like it.{#Moon}
Re: comparing one musician to another, Keith Richards said it best when he said there was only one original song ever made and it was by Adam and Eve. Everything else is copied from that!
(Irony On)It´s so cool to hate mainstream,....{#Undecided}

so bad, its comical.

<MUTE>
great melody, and the voice does sound a bit like Radiohead, the music is more like Queen....me thinks

I do.  I react the same way to both of them —- dive for the mute button.

This tune is brutal.

I think this song should lay that comparison to rest. Radiohead is great, I love them mucho, but Muse is more rockin'.

So true...
Quite enjoyable in a morose kind of way; cool instrumentation and production.

...the comparisons are inevitable given the striking similarity to thom yorke's vocals in middle-era radiohead, but this is pretty good...
Dreadful.

Not really a favorite of mine, but still a good song.

And I really don't understand the Radiohead comparisons.

All this Yapping about who they sound like.   Yada yada yada.

Why not just enjoy, or not enjoy the music for what it is, and stop with the pitiful comparisons the entire time. There are only so many notes and octives. Someone is bound to sound like someone.

Perfect!

Not only that, basically all musicians are influenced by other musicians in some sort of way, fashion or form.
8/10, just for the cover.
Ponderous, derivative, and ultimately tedious.  I've known root canals that sound better than this.
Yep, absolution . . . that's what he needs after this song.  'Course, there is the little matter of appropriate penance first.

Stop being so narrow-minded now peeps. Great song and AWESOME CD.
radio head is not fun
Geez... who squeezed this guy's gonads?

AMEN!
Fan of neither RH or MUSE, but I hear the similarity.

Radiohead fan I am; but Muse I happen to like, unlike many I see here. But then again, there are tons of bands here that people gush over that make me want to hack up a hairball. Muse is amusing to me- my opinion. Kind of like Radiohead meets liberace vs. rush meets metallica? whine on haters :P
Muse reminds me of a hybrid of Radiohead (guitar effects)/Smashing Pumpkins (riff intensity/drumming)/Rush (fullness of sound despite the fact that there are only three band members.)

I don't know why Muse is constantly compared to Radiohead. There are more differences than there are similarities. You really should be saying: STOP. USING. THE. SAME. SONG. STRUCTURE. FOR. EVERY. TRACK!!!! They've a very talented and tight band, but there's a reason for it, if you ask me: A lot of their songs follow a very similar pattern. You can say this about countless bands, but Muse has one that is extremely easy to identify and is not very well hidden across their discography.
STOP... TRYING .... TO..... BE .... RADIOHEAD!!!!!

Ditto ditto LAME overinflated drivel. It gets a 2.
The more I hear it the less I like it....and I rated it a "2" the first time round.
Agreed that there's some radiohead in here...but it's also true that being a radiohead fun seems to bring with it the fact that one finds influences of radiohead everywhere. anyway, MUSE kind of dissappointed me after their first 2 good cds, pitty

I fully agree, and just added this to my auto-mute list. In my taste it's absolute annoying. Yuck.

I don't mind the instrumentation on this one but overall I dislike every Muse track I've ever heard because this guy's whining vocals are irritating to say the least (shudder).

Don't apologise. Your inabilty to see the staggeringly obvious similarities is not bothering anyone.
agreed - first couple of times I heard it, I swore it was RadioHead. The airy feel - the off key singing - the guitars - could go on and on...
Went to see Live in december 1999. There was this totally unknown band called Muse opening for them. I have never, ever seen a band nobody knew get the audience so worked up. It was a great concert (And the main act was awesome too :-)

I don't think that two Radioheads is too many. While Thom Yorke et al are taking a breather, these guys can pick up the slack.

Thing for abtholution! ...Just kidding. I love Muse. Saw them live in May, they put on a great show.

They tended to me more intense than this on their first two albums, although very, very similar... at times JBuckleyish

Oh, why don't you just save us the trouble of listening to this by just playing radiohead, instead
Saw them live at the Roskilde festival. A tremendous concert! Both the band and the crowd were fantastic. As for being off key, well, he might be wailing, but he's not off key. I find the desperate melancholic tone really fits in with the instruments. You should hear when he gets behind the piano : )
there's no "Starsailor"-connection here. Listen to "Muse - Bliss" and listen your arguments go down the drain! In You Face yes? :D heheh
Fantastic. saw them live recently. They were tremendous. Does this remind anyobne else of 1970s british TV shows? or is it just e?
I love these guys. They were my first initiation into any musical other than calssical - parents dont like it, and i was never rebellious. Thanks whoever uploaded this.

Seriously. They dug up Buckley. Tell me I'm wrong.
i hear ya :nodhead: if you've ever listened to the band Ours, you'd think that too. i also see the similarity between starsailor in a strange way.

THANKS did you get any more of Muse accepted??? very much like Ours, imho.
Yes, Endlessly which will probably also get similar reactions to those below! - ie you either love it or you hate it. No matter, there's plenty music that I love and just as much that I hate on RP. It'd be a dull world if we all liked the same music - thanks to Bill G we can say what we think. I'm pleased you're in the former category though! I haven't uploaded any others, but I think I've seen some other Muse tracks in the LRC, so they might make it through.
Kind of reminds me of Star Sailor. I like it.

Purgatory would be a reprieve - this is closer to actual hell. I agree with the comment below - way too whiny.
Yes, he should sing for absolution! But, like too many RP vocalists, his vocal quality is wince-inducing and off key. Rather than get into a piercing range, he could have simply set the song down a few keys. The instrumentation on this song, though, is invigorating and good quality. I would rather do without the wailing, that's all.
