Eyes aflame, she ran away,
I will be where I want to be.
Need some space to be alone,
Need a place to call my own.

Can't stay here another day,
Thank awhile, walk away.
People wonder where she's gone,
All they see's a strange shaped stone.

They'll never invade her now.

Love the music. It's hypnotic and uplifting.  But I can't hear the vocals, they sound like they were recorded from down the hall.

That's sort of a feature of shoegaze. The vocals aren't meant to be distinct, they're just meant to contribute to the 'wall of sound'.

While I agree that many of those are fantastic songs, they don't really "fit" RP. Leave them all behind is one if my favourite Ride songs ever, but it would probably alienate the average RP listener. Too much noise, too little tune/melody.

Vapor Trail is a great track and most definitely belongs on RP.
Nice atmosphere here; such a cool shimmering of wild guitars! Hard to believe it's from '91! Makes me want to crank some BRMC, High Violets, Lush...

If you read it that way a second time, you may need an eye exam.  ... What is a sennen, anyway? These lyrics have not a clue.

OK, so sit down instead.
The form of the music is one reason it's called dream pop, which, being dream-like, is therefore ergo thus sort of amorphous.

Are you using effects pedals for your guitar?
Oh yeah, this is great stuff.

Loved every second of the Today Forever EP, which sent me swirling into an infinite vortex...
Why am I gazing at my shoes?
Never heard this track or even this band before. Nice. More. Although on this track I prefer the music over the vocals, and fine guitar-driven music it is.

Forever a 10.

Total tragedy that a band like RIDE barely gets played on RP and crap like Mocean Worker or whatever the hell it's called gets way, way ,WAY over played..a real shame..come on Bill. You know better. I have faith

3 of those are my uploads.

It's a sad day indeed... very little Power Pop here at R.P.

Aw man- thought we had Fountains of Wayne there for a sec!

"Going Blank Again" is really good also. So is "Carnival of Light". Both are Power Poppy!

Power to the Power Poppers!
I also liked "Going Blank again" quite a bit

I feel your pain, brother.

Noooooo, no — please not *that* song!  I had blissfully forgotten all about that "Disneyland" song until you reminded me........  I'm trying to objectively rate this song on it's own merit.

it is a crying shame that this is the ONLY Ride song on RP.

This is very early Ride, a track taken from one of their first singles. If you like it, go check out "Nowhere", their first album. The album sports a quite darker mood than showcased on this song though. Nevertheless, worth looking into.

I do too. We need more Ride, IMO. Always like their guitars. Vocals too, although you can't tell much by this one.
The intro of this song sounded very Cure-like! I like their sound.

Hmm. I think you need a font that makes your Ns stand alone. :oP

wow a whole page of comments, and not one slamming this as a U2/Coldplay/Doves ripoff. I'm impressed.
Somehow I recall this song . . . yet it isn't on the 2 disk Ride collection I bought (OX4 the best of Ride). If it wasn't one of their hits, why is it so familiar? By the way this song is better than the majority of the songs in the collection.

Pretty good.
This would be lovely followed by Low - Silver Rider.

Agreed, I hear the influence, especially in the bassline. Likeable tune. More, please?
Hmmm...the 'artist website' link takes you to a snowboarding site. :-k Actual band site is https://www.rideox4.net/

Party Ben should do a mix of this song and Filter's Take A Picture.
