Scott and Del both have some terrific riff-a-bilities.  There, I made a verb out of Riff.

When they were cutting some tracks for Ta-Dah, I had to explain what a "Hair Baby" was to a couple of astounded and repelled bystanders.  Most excellent rush I got from their mutual "eeewwww's"  Silly girls.

They're NOT the Bee Gees or Elton John if you check out their other songs! I've seen Scissor Sisters live and they're immensely versatile and talented. I think they put a fresh spin on covers and they do each one differently. Oddly they've been a bigger hit in Europe than in the USA.

Bill, FYI the tune isn't intended to be silly at all. 3/5 of the band is gay, and the song is about finding a way to make peace with their parents over their sexual orientation. Usually I don't pay much attention to lyrics, but after seeing them perform on SNL, I was blown away! In an age of bands that sacrifice their identities in order to get a record contract, and $17 CDs that might as well be singles, S/S is the best new rock band that I've heard in quite a while. (Not counting what I discovered after I found RP.) So I learned a lot about the band while trying to figure out how they seemingly came out of nowhere. "Return to Oz" is a dark tune that covers some pretty grim subject matter (meth addiction), but the artistry in the song cannot be denied. If I had to pick only two tracks from this CD, "Return to Oz" would be the other one for sure. Rebecca, please let that one through!!!

Mashup is fun, but not good for RP general audiences (too much going on it, loud and George Michael's breathy doesn't go well with the SS style). But I would like to see more by the SS on the RP playlist, though. I'm a fan of Return to Oz (any song with a reference to the Skeksis is cool in my book) and It Can't Come Quickly Enough - has anyone uploaded these?
