What do you think they would say
If I stood up and I walked away
Nobody here really understands me
and so I'll wave goodbye I'm fine, I'm fine

Tones of home
said you don't like the way I'm living
you don't like me
Tones of home, tones of home
And so I'll wave goodbye.
I'm flyin' I'm flyin' home

And I always thought this would be
the land of milk and honey
Oh but I came to find out that it's
all hate and money
And there's a canopy of greed holding me down.

Tones of home
said you don't like the way I'm living
you don't like me
Tones of home, tones of home
And so I'll wave goodbye.
I'm flyin' I'm flyin' home

See I'm so high to you, so I'll fade away
I said your on your own
Your Mom and Daddy said , that your
sister said, and your brothers saying
Everybody is saying Everybody, is
saying I, eye God I gotta go!
All my friends patronize me and
They say YO Hey Boy! Have you
found what you're looking for.
It seems they don't really know me cause it's here
and it's what they can't see.

gave it a 1 and skipped it.
Tasty! Haven't heard this in years. Was going to give it a 7 but now it gets a one-point bump because, nostalgia. 8.

Hi!

I perfectly understand what you mean.
Personaly, when I listen to Blind Melon, I think about The Posies. Not that the bands are similar, but both remind me good times of my life.
If you like fresh drumming, you may really like I Can Dream All Day

Bye!

Damn!!!  I miss this guy so much.
I love the drumming.

YUP!

Really like the universe of Blind Melon...thanks for playing it here despite some controverse opinions on the forum
I totally hear the Janes Addiction bits in here - though it's a little more complex and polished IMHO.  What a great groove though.  *volUP!*

This is exactly what I was thinking. I so sure other people would've made the comparison and sure enough, I find this at the top of the page!

I always loved Blind Melon's other disc, but never heard this one apart from "No Rain". Nice to hear that they were just as fun in the beginning...

If you haven't heard it, you should check out the song, "Change". It's one of their best, IMO.

All three of their discs are great, I think. This one was more straight-on rock, to me, whereas "Soup" is a little darker. "Nico", released after Shannon's death, is often overlooked as a b-sides album, but I think it had some of their strongest tracks.

Abandon Jalopy is a steller side project from the bass player (after the Unified Theroy stuff ) ——-album called MERCY

again very tasty stuff
worth a listen

I suppose if you take the short view that drug addiction is a choice.  It's like telling a diabetic its their fault they can't eat sugar.  I only wish he'd gotten help.

{#Bananajam}This is quite possibly Blind Melon's best song.

Poor Shannon ... he has flown Home.
rip s.h.
This is an album that needs to be listened to from track 1 to the end. A satisfying story.

VERY! good memories come with this song........as with all the songs from this album...was, is and will be great!
i know these guys are hard and whatnot... but everytime i hear one of their songs, all i can think is "Cute! Cute! Cute!!!!" :D
first rock show I saw: Blind Melon @ 1313 Club in Charlotte, NC Shannon Hoon begged us to live in the moment 'cause you aren't guaranteed a tomorrow.
So I'm waving goodbye I'm flying, I'm flying home... I will sing this out loud one day when I will be flying home. This song reminds me that this day will come.
Wow! It's one of the hardest tune I heard on RP!
Blind melon has always been my favorite band! RIP Shannon check out this website: https://www.beemelon.com
I remember when this album came out all the haters called these guys hippies regurgitated with one song. I think they had alot more to offer than one hit which actually undermined they're vibe a bit since the public expected more "no rain"s. Good high energy rock and this was one of the best on the album.

Such an under rated band of the nineties. It was so unfortuante when Shannon Hoon died, and it barely got a two inch column in the papers & music rags, MTV just about mentioned it on their 'news' Yet, Cobain - do I even need to go there? He is STILL appearing on the covers of magazines! I don't care how great Kurts music was (I agree that it was) he killed himself, he did it on purpose! I would love to see where Blind Melon would be right now.

One of my favorites! It's a shame for me that I never got to see them live! I have heard their shows and each one is original and completely rocks!

Cruel, but fair
Reminds me of an all girl residence I was staying at during my university daze.

1st rock show I attended. This is my favorite of their songs. The 1313 club in Charlotte, NC (no longer exists) went ape shit when they played this one.
missed it - doh't!

Nah -- save the intentional overdose, it's just idiocy with severe consequences. This is the first Blind Melon tune I heard so I got a favorable impression of them before MTV and every rock radio station beat the bloody hell out of "The Bee Song." The overplay undeservedly took away a lot of their credibility and made them seem to the lazy listening public like a one-hit band. Too bad.

Isn't a drug overdose killing yourself on purpose too? I mourn Blind Melon too. Great band. Great tune.
love this one!...
Man... is this fun or what? I'd seen them live once and several performances on TV... unfortunate that Shannon always seemed like he shot up 1 or 20 too many times before the show. I'm normally a fan of live music... but these guys studio stuff was brilliant. Too bad you can't say the same for the live...

good cd.
