This is our fork in the road
Love's last episode
There's nowhere to go, oh no
You made your choice
Now it's up to me
To bow out gracefully
Though you hold the key, but baby

Whenever you call me, I'll be there
Whenever you want me, I'll be there
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be around

I knew just what to say
Now I found out today
That all the words had slipped away, but I know
There's always a chance
A tiny spark will remain, yeah
And sparks turn into flames
And love can burn once again, but I know you know

Whenever you call me, I'll be there
Whenever you want me, I'll be there
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be around, yeah

Whenever you call me, I'll be there
Whenever you want me, I'll be there
Even if I have to crawl, I'll be there
I'll be around

Just call me on the phone, I'll be there
I'll never leave you alone, I'll be there
Just call out your name, I know I know you know
I'll be around

I'll be standing in a coffin, I'll be there
I'll be a-rippin' it up, I'll be there
I'll be calling out your name to let you know
I'll be around

No.   Parkay!
Well maybe not  "tons." We all know how art gets coopted so there's that. And every genre has gems to be found. Generally, rap and hip hop have been misogynistic and malevolent (not so much at the beginning), kids being raised listening to Bitch and Ho and godawful things being done to women in songs.

Which is different than the love and respect of soul music back in the day. And it made a difference.  In the culture. In the movement and in the times.

Even the songs that weren't overtly about justice or were pop like Love Train, still sent a message and permeated the era. A classic example is "I'll Take You There" by the Staples Singers. As epic as Marvin Gaye's work.

And isn't it weird seeing Ice-T sell laundry soap?

Saw some videos on YT of how much little toddlers like Bob Marley.

Good vibes send good vibes. Remember The Message.

'different'. '70's soul just isn't rap and there's tons of genres within rap to enjoy.

Must be an oversight by Bill where he added the same song from two different albums. It's nice to see that the voting histogram is almost identical for these two clones of the song {#Cool}
Why are there two same songs? {#Eh}

I'm a kid with my cheap AM transistor radio again, hanging out under the big pine tree in the front yard.

Every time this song comes on, I have to stop whatever I am doing and dance.

All Spinners, all day.

"That's funny!"

You can put on Motown's Temptations and Stevie Wonder anthologies along with Atlantic's Spinners anthology and pretty much not stop dancing for 7-8 hours.

Another one I'd hide from in their/my day... Now...? A nice throwback - kinda like me (the nice part depends who ya ask!)
"I'll be around"{#Whistle}

I remember listening to this song on my little GE, transistor radio when I was a kid.  That doesn't really make me feel any younger, but the song does still bring a smile to my face.  Wonderful tune.  {#Good-vibes}

Yay! I vote for more of this kind of thing.

All great music is radio paradise.

fair enough, but there are certain genres that have plenty of 'great' music that are a bit underrepresented here (e.g. 70s R&B and dance)
All great music is radio paradise.
Thom Bell, ladies and gentlemen! Thom Bell!
No Way!
This song is so un-radio-paradise
i love this song!
