Every time I think of you
I get a shot right through into a bolt of blue
It's no problem with mind, but it's a problem I find
Living a life that I can't leave behind

There's no sense in telling me
The wisdom of a fool won't set you free
But that's the way that it goes, and it's what nobody knows
And every day my confusion grows

Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
You say the words that I can't say

I feel fine and I feel good
I feel like I never should
Whenever I get this way, I just don't know what to say
Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday

I'm not sure what this could mean
I don't think you're what you seem
I do admit to myself, that if I hurt someone else
Then I'll never see, just what we're meant to be

Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
You say the words that I can't say

Every time I see you falling
I'll, get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for the final moment
You, say the words that I can't say

This gets a 3 from me, which I admit may be totally unfair. The original is precious to me, and I can't judge it impartially. New Order was a huge part of the soundtrack of my mid-20's. It was a time when I overcame chronic shyness and started to enjoy my youth and learned the sweet pleasure of sowing some wild oats. The club scene in the 80's also made it incredibly easy. I learned that all I had to do was tease my hair, throw on a short skirt and a band t-shirt, and I could go to a club by myself and dance for hours—by myself, with a guy, in a circle of people, didn't matter. I could let the beat take control and forget myself. "Bizarre Love Triangle" was my favorite dance song in those years, but even then, it wasn't a popular opinion. I often had to fight my way through the crowd to the DJ booth to request it. There was something about those opening beats that just made my heart explode with joy.

So, no, can't enjoy this subdued take on the song at all.
Wow, this version just drains allllll the vigor from the song.
{#Yawn}
A completely unnecessary remake.
Sweet voice and an improvement on the original, and I write that as someone who was a New Order fan. At least she can sing, which is more than can be said for Bernard Sumner. 7 from the Nottingham jury.
7 for the song, +1 more for Angie Hart being a part of the Mutant Enemy crew...
After 10 seconds of this I had to switch briefly to Illinois Street Lounge for a palate cleanser, then to Groove Salad for the duration. It worked.

Beautiful! A great album too!

Sure do miss Frente....

For me, it's more like Pepto Bismol.  This cover makes me think of those TV commercials (for Pepto) that are in such exceptionally bad taste (really saying something for american TV commercials).

The "!" in the band's name simply seals the 1.

This is why artists like this are always in coffee shops....you need a lot of coffee to get through this.....
Arf.
I can't stand the New Oder version but I do like this...{#Music}
pretty
blech!
I actually like this!  For once, I like listening to this song!

I could never understand the hype around New Order...never liked their work and didn't like them when they were Joy Division either.  I know, I know, a lot of people like them and it's just a matter of taste.

Unlike the original where the singer always sounded like he was on novocaine, this version to me sounds like it comes from the heart.

Why on earth did he write lyrics, then? Was someone blackmailing him into it? Was he just doing it for the paycheck? This is like a baseball player saying he doesn't like to throw a ball. It's supposed to be fun, for f*ck's sake! I've always thought that the title of this song promised something much more interesting than the song actually delivered. Now I know why. And this isn't the only New Order song I detest. Note to other bands: Please do not waste my time singing songs that you don't even enjoy yourselves.

It's silly to reply to a years old comment like this one, but it's not like writing lyrics was the only thing he did, or that he didn't enjoy singing even if writing the lyrics was a chore.  It's the reason why he's remembered as a vocalist and not necessarily a poet (although there's room for debate there).

For a lot of musicians, their songs start out as a melody, often made up of nonsense words, and they then have to go back and find words to fit their song.  If you cannot appreciate the merits of the melodic component of a truly good song that suffers from suboptimal lyrics, you've just thrown out most of pop music and a LOT of good tunes. {#Sad}
Awww, why all the hate? I like this version just fine...and I'm a New Order/Joy Division fan too!
I have always like this version, but I don't really know why.{#Stupid}

Sorry Existentialista I agree with DaveInVA on this one.

Annoying, breathy female voice destroying a good song.
I just love her voice in this song...

There was a time when I really liked this CD, listened to it all the time.  Alas, that time has passed... funny how it is with some CDs!
This is really sweet - makes it possible to actually listen to the words and realise they're rather cute, which was not possible in New Order's original.

I may be in the minority, but I like this version better. I have an import CD of theirs with this song & others on it, and like it quite a bit overall.
Insipid!
This is horrid!

I have it too. Not in my top 20, or perhaps even top 50, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Ian who? This song was written by New Order who at the time consisted of Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert

Ah cute! I think she did a Flintstones cover and it was even cuter!
sorry, but the original is much better. this is a 3.

There was no need to do this to this song - she should have kept it locked in a dark corner of her basement and sprung it on elderly aunts with heart trouble
Of course; there was no need, but it just sounds nice.

Very pretty. Next.

Couldn't agree more - this CD needs to be pulled out of the pack for a listen as it has been several years.

Well, can't agree with you and New Order is still selling records to the current generation of teens and influential enough for people to remake their songs. Their version is THE VERSION. This version is different but better...I think not. I remember hearing an interview once by Ian about how he hated writing lyrics. He quite readily admits that the lyrics are silly and ridiculous. IMHO these lyrics were never intended to be "acoustically" redone.

Sweet Song
Little girl voice with a guitar. Isn't that cute? How typical. What's the purpose? Why do so many artists redo songs, often poorly, such as in this case?
This is poop. Why would anyone want to make those idiotic lyrics more comprehensible?
terrible, awful, shitty, boring, crappy version of a great tune. sound of finger being ground in pencil sharpener

Her voice just makes me want to curl up in her lap!
too girlie
Ok, maybe I am a purist, but give me New Order any day.
I've got the video for this track..she's so sweet
does she sound like that during sex?
Why is the one track that every radio station played the only one that RP plays? I remember this album from 7th grade and I loved pretty much every song on this album.
I've always liked this cover. It reminds me of when I was in college. I like the original very much as well, but this version just sounds... well, sweeter.
Angie Hart is friends with Joss Whedon and was on Buffy, so anything by Frente automatically gets some points for that, plus it's just a great song to begin with...
I haven't heard this in years. I haven't thought about it in just as long. Not sure that was a bad thing. If this wasn't a cover, but was the original, I might like it better. Or if I had no idea it was a cover. As it is, there is something almost sacred to me about a lot of New Order, so this song just doesn't cut it.
nope. no good.
aw, it's not so bad. it reminds me of my junior year of highschool.

Too precious. And I don't mean in a good way.
Never did like the original of this. Her singing isn't helping, but the guitar arrangement is pretty nice.
Fatal cute overdose

seems im not alone in bashing this one so i wont put out any effort :P
This is an insult to New Order. Man, why do they do this to music??
Get the hook!
Awwwwwww! This is sooooooooo cuuuuuuute!!!
Is it open mic night at the coffee shop again?

if a nine year old were to cover a song and perform it at her class stage show, it would sound like this. it is actually a really good cover. it adds something new, it reveals, it discovers something in the song you did not realize was there.
i changed my mind: this is a really good one.

Very cool cover of the New Order track. Glad to see the positive feedback on it. Fast turnaround time too; it was "added" and played in the just over 12 hours after I uploaded it!! :D
Wow... flashback... I remember how impressed I was with this remake when it came out.. it has been so long I forgot the name of the group... Frente! hehe Reminds me of good times, and still sounds good :)

I've been in France too long. I'd never heard this version before!
YAY! I heard this years ago and had no luck tracking it down, because of a profusion of more popular covers, and the presence of the original on dozens of 80s compilations. good work RP!
Good cover. Good tune. Good stuff. A 9.
Wow. Um, just wow. I like it. I like the acoustic take on it. Yep.

Takes me back to high school =). An excellent cover; nice to hear a good voice showing the quality of the melody line.
Cute
