White label on the backseat
Glows an artificial green
I crave a midnight something
I crave and something hunts me down
I'm scaring everybody
I'm wearing everybody down

White label on the backseat
And something bends me over down
I crave an empty lifestyle
I crave the very loudest sound
I'm chasing everybody
I'm shaking everybody down
Do you hear the loudest sound
And you and me in the echo

White label on the backseat
And something warm across my lap
I never bitched at anyone
I never asked for my heart back
I'm loving everybody
And hating everyone I see
Do you hear the loudest sound
Floating out on the echo

As it was ending, I was thinking that this sounds like Garbage or at least Shirley.  I looked up hoping it was the cut of their new album that I haven't heard yet.

But this ain't bad, I'll give it a better listen next time around.  And hope I catch the new Garbage track also.
Kristin Hersh proves that musical moms can ROCK out!

I like it.

Hersh has listed among her early musical influences The Raincoats, Talking Heads, Violent Femmes, Meat Puppets, Dead Kennedys, Hüsker Dü, Velvet Underground, R.E.M., and X. She has said her parents' albums by Patti Smith, the Carter Family, Stevie Wonder, Robert Johnson, Talking Heads, The Clash, Steve Miller, The Beatles, Philip Glass, and traditional music influenced her when she was growing up.

Can't put my finger on it,,, but this sounds like a Dandy Warhol's song... - anyone know what I'm thinking of? Anyway - that just means I like it more.

Yes, it sounds a lot like Godless - at least portions of it.

Verse sounds like an outtake from Can't Buy a Thrill; chorus is straight up REM
Awesome! I love Kristin Hersh! Haven't listened to her in a looooong time. Definitely part of my 90s life, though.

You mean garbage or Garbage?  Big difference.

I like this. It kind of sounds like a mellow garbage.

Sounds like Veruca Salt.
I think some of Veruca's band toured with her sister.
I like the cover art. Take out the text and I'd hang that on my wall here at the casa.
Good stuff. Always thought she was the better Muse, and Belly was great live.
Love this.

Wow! Has it really been 10 months since I rated this? I adore Kristin! Thanx Bill! Coincidence or what? Throwing Muses - Surf Cowboy - University. On LRC simultaniously!

... Yea, tried that as a special reward for myself for being at RP for 3 months today and Kristin scores 10 as her reward and RP scores 10 too! ... ...

Love Kristen/Muses stuff - this doesn't rock as hard as some but still a fine track.

Not that the Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil" has a copyright on the 'hoo hoo' but man, does this song borrow heavily. Decent tune.
