GREAT TUNE!!  I was 13yrs old when this came out. NYC Top 10/ Top 40 AM radio stations used to play it a lot.  Brings back good memories. Thanx RP!

I heard this piece so many times on the radio when young that either your country is not the US, or you lived in somewhere like, where? I don't know if in the 60s there were parts of this country that never played contemporary music, but probably this was the case. Honestly, I got tired of hearing this piece it was played so often. Cleveland area. Maybe your era was later, in which case, time is on my side (yes it was).

I got to see Hugh Masakela at the tiny Sellersville theater in PA in 2014 - absolutely mind-blowing performance from Hugh and that incredible band!  He was about 75 years old and absolutely gave his all (singing,  blowin the horns, dancing, carousing) for 3 hours.  I´ll never forget it...

WMEX in Boston (1510 AM) and no doubt many stations nationwide utilized this tune ubiquitously for fade out station breaks and pre-news intros.

Yes, I prefer this version to the later Friends of Distinction version (where their singer added on lyrics), but they are both great — just different grooves.  This is smooth and cool.
