Le Colonel is probably of the Lawrence Welk ilk! To not be able to truly enjoy the ultimate blues guitarist to ever shred, that's almost an insult to the man, the legend. RIP SRV. I was lucky enough to see SRV at Nick's Uptown on Greenville Avenue in Dallas a handful of times in the mid-to-late 80s, for a $5 cover charge. He was nothing short of electrifying!

Stevie was a Force of Nature, for sure! Thankfully for myself and many others at CU Boulder in the late '80s, he inspired Big Head Todd and a couple of classmates to turn our Friday Afternoon Club gatherings at the UMC into legendary BluesJam Rock Parties!

Really depends on the type of guitar playing - finger picking isnt included on the list except for maybe Leo Kottke or Knopfler BBKing is the king of the high E - hes tone deaf, its his band behind him that makes him as good as he is I would add Robert Frip to your list or Adrian Belew or Richard Thompson or Bruce Cockburn

This was SRV's first work post rehab. Its a song about his recovery from the addiction and the self destruction. That whole CD is awesome. I saw him live back in a day.... MAN! What a guitar slinger! Died too soon.
