The funny thing about Hem is that they discovered Sally (vocals) briefly after they had given up their search for a vocalist. One of the better Hem tunes not on the Rabbit Songs album.

Every time I hear it this song just stops me in my tracks. The singer's voice is incredible and the hook in this song is wonderful. Led Zeppelin - pshawww! Overated.

Perhaps a little. Sally Ellyson has a much softer voice and a higher range than Mary Fahl of October Project (who was quoted as saying she likes female vocalists to sound like women instead of girls). Interesting triviata...Sally got the job by offering Dan Messé a "demo" tape of lullabies she'd made for a friend. Since then, Hem's been making some great albums. Another likeable tune from the New York band.

Definitely. I'd say there are about 3-4 songs that are exceptional. The rest of the album is strong as well. If you liked 'Rabbit Songs' I'd say its worth a purchase. Olympus_mons wrote:
