One part of me just wants to tell you everything
One part just needs the quiet
And if I'm lonely here, I'm lonely here
And on the telephone, you offer reassurance

I will not take these things for granted
I will not take these things

How can I hold the part of me that only you can carry?
It needs a strength I haven't found
But if it's frightening, I'll bear the cold
And on the telephone, you offer warm asylum

I'm listening, flowers in the garden
Laughter in the hall, children in the park

I will not take these things for granted
I will not take these things for granted
I will not take these things for granted
I will not take these things anymore

To crawl inside the wire and feel something near me
To feel this accepting
That it is lonely here, but not alone
And on the telephone, you offer visions dancing

I'm listening, music in the bedroom
Laughter in the hall, dive into the ocean
Singing by the fire, running through the forest
Standing in the wind, the rolling canyons

I will not take these things for granted
I will not take these things for granted
I will not take these things for granted
I will not take these things anymore

I will not take these things for granted (flowers in the garden)
I will not take these things for granted (laughter in the hall)
I will not take these things for granted (children in the park)
I will not take these things for granted (dive into the ocean)
I will not take these things for granted (singing by the fire)
I will not take these things for granted (the rolling canyons)

Sometimes repetitious lyrics drive me over the edge, and this is one of those times.
Love for the Toads all around the world
At last!   After 15 straight PSDs I get something I like.  (I still give money every year to RP)

My exact thoughts.  Of all the great songs by this band, this is not the one i would choose.

I’m a big Toad fan, but this doesn’t resonate with me as much as many of their other songs do.
Excruciating.
A powerful tune from one of the most emotionally charged albums I own.  "Fear" is definitely my favorite Toad CD.
yea yea, repeat it one more time.. just one more time! {#Mad}
This song slays me every time I hear it. Just captivatingly excellent.
Awesomeness
Seems to me Toad fit in perfectly here. Great guys, made some very fine albums.
Love it! Even their cheesy songs are great!
Nice song, but is this supposed to sound like its channels are out of phase?
This album was one of the soundtracks to my teenage years.  I still can't listen without smiling a little.
I love their album Dulcinea.

They really push my buttons    {#Cheers}
That was torture.
Outstanding message in this outstanding song from this outstanding band! To bad they are standing out :( Watched these guys go from opening for Micheal Penn in small clubs and sending tapes and letters to their faithful to filling arenas a couple years into the slowly-but-strongly-received "Fear". Now lawn and child care for them all? Anyway - nice success story for a nice group of guys. Hope they come back as a group some day.
