Your love is a life for I
Realized that so much
When I first met you
That was some time ago oh
From then until this
Resist no no no close to you
Oh yes right from the start
Oh no no no could never part
Oh I hear from that thought

CHORUS
------

I wanna live in your house
I wanna live in your house
You say dry your ___ don't
Wipe that tear drops from your eyes

Was in a little situation
Came with a solution
Was a revelation to hear
Triumphant calling
Triumphant trumpets
SCAT
Spap spa da dap pap spa spa

CHORUS
------

I wanna live in your house
I wanna live in your house

Oh I no hear
Too much for what some say
Cause at the close of the day
They'll be so far away
But then I know
One things for certain
Came at the closing of the
Woo oh oh oh
Yes, I know one thing for certain
You'll be there you'll be there
It was you
That raise the flag above I head
Once when I was once when I was
In a little situation
Came with a solution
Was a revelation to hear
Triumphant calling
Triumphant trumpets

CHORUS
------

I wanna live in your house
I wanna live in your house

To make I home
To make I home yeh
I wanna live

It sounds nice , it's worm and lazy but what about later? are you still gonna do nothing? You know you don't want to do that for ever
Think I need to put this album on while on the drive home.  It'll help with the mood after being abused at work all week.

Automatic up-vote for reggae that isn't bob marley.

When music made us all unite.
Nothing by TRB in the RP playlist by the way. If i had to pick just one by Tom Robinson Band think it'd have to be 'Blue Murder'. But then again i dunno, its a tough choice...
So great to hear Steel Pulse, and it's excellent "True Democracy" album on RP.  Steel Pulse is a great reggae band that seems to always stay below the radar — a good match for RP IMO.

'S OK.  Must have been significantly affected by the previous comment.  Something about this song being a soundtrack from high school in the 80s.

Man I love this album.  Wore the cassette out the summer of 82
Cetainly some mixed opinion here. That's why it's so nice living on this planet I guess. For me though, just more of my salary redirected to Amazon. Most excellent indeed!

Okay, umm, reggae is a great sound and everything, but it's been around since the mid-70's, at least as far back as I know, and well...hate to say this, but...doesn't it all sound the same? You can only do so much with that groove...just my opinion. How many songs about women and marijuana can you write?

That's a fair point, but you could (and some folk do) say the same thing about other musical genres with defined styles, such as blues and rock, not to mention classical music styles. The trick for musicians is to work inventively within, and push, the boundaries of these styles (12-bar for blues, say) to make it relevant to modern audiences without losing their heritage. There are also political and social drivers - reggae has never been just a musical style, but has always had themes of religion, anti-racism and liberation at its heart. I'm a white guy so can't speak 'on behalf' of reggae, but I reckon that as long as there's racism and oppression black folk will be playing reggae. Similarly, as long as there's poverty, racism and wage-slavery, there'll be blues. IMHO naturally :)

Personally, reggae's religious aspect has always grated on me, even though I love the sound (and loved it even more when I smoked hash) - at times it's like Songs of Praise. So it's nice to hear reggae numbers, like this one, that aren't hymns. 7 from the Nottingham jury.

Yes. That seperates the professionell from the amateur.

Well, it depends on your viewpoint I suppose. For me, reggae and dub is as varied as it comes. I listen to stuff from the 70's to stuff released right now and there is quality all the way. I would class this as Reggae 'pop' but still a great and uplifting track.

Maybe you have not listened to enough?

For something easy and new listen to some of this excellent podcast https://petecogle.com/blog/category/the-dub-zone/

Well it's really cold in Chicago but this tune is keeping me warm in the car!!

Who let this dickhead out long enough to access a keyboard?

{#Puke} Ok, I'm not as eclectic as I thought.  Unless I'm at some tropical beach, sipping a nice cold drink, listening to rolling surf and laying in the shade of a palm tree next to the ocean, this sound is NOT for me.

"negros play nice"? Isn't that racist? Where is "Heartland" - Alabama?

Why the meanness? There is really no need... reggae music spreads a wonderful, peaceful message to all who listen. And...it makes me smile!
godlike...

For me, you can't like reggae too much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Bill!! This reminds me of my late teens - packing the backpack + climbing gear into the car for forays into the southern Sierra. Those were the days...
Thank you... That would be me (my favorite Steel Pulse tune). Derecho wrote:
