I've wasted all my years
Been chasin' all my fears
For another brighter than you
I gave in long ago to make it to the show,
But it's not easy when you're alone

All your prayers
In my ears
Don't you care?

Whir yourself around
Just to fall back down
Whir yourself around

My honey, little girl
C'mon, lets go for a whirl
It's still early, the sun is sleeping

She says she wants to marry me
She says she wants a baby
It's not easy when you're scared

Whir yourself around
Just to fall back down
Whir yourself around

All your prayers
In my ears
Don't you care?

THIS ONE MAKES ME SO HAPPY. Billy at his sweetest.
I like this song but the production is terrible.  I can barely hear his voice and lyrics.  Sounds like it was produced under water.
This was on many a mix-tape that I made back in the day.

aw, c'mon

The Smashing Pumpkins happened round me at the time without really impacting on me. However over the last 6 months I have started to work through their back catalog thanks to hearing them on Radio Paradise. What a wonderful band. One of the (few) advantages of age is it give you a new perspective on things and a second chance to rectify the errors of youth.

The more I think about it, the more I believe the early '90s brought us some of the best bands and best music in the history of rock-n-roll. Great time to be a twenty-something.

We thought the same thing in the '60s.

Yeah, I was right there with ya'. It was more than just grunge, too.
Makes me think of Shawn Colvin's Wichita Skyline. Which is a good thing.

This is an underrated SP album—fo sho!
I usually find Billy kind of tiresome, but this is great.
Jessica Simpson's freaky boyfriend.  Meh...
This is one of those songs where I like the song, but can't stand the singing. It just about ruins what is otherwise a great tune. Too bad!
Great example of when the Smashing Pumpkins all got along and do what they do best.

Hmmm, this doesn't usually happen to me, but the last three songs have been off of albums that I own, or at least used to own.

I'm sure there are people here with massive collections that have a lot more than three album streaks, what's your max? {#Jump}
I normally find the Pumpkins to be grating. But I rather like this one.
one of my favorite song on this cd. beautiful, love the music and words.

my all time favorite song by SP is on here too, starla. I am a sucker for noisy guitars and the last 6 minutes of starla is noisy!

You said it far better than I could. I wholeheartedly agree! {#Clap}
Achingly beautiful. Makes my heart stop to listen.

remember when the pumpkins had a bass and electric guitar? oh and some drums?
Never been a Pumpkins fan. But this is rather nice.
excellent! a nice late afternoon surprise.

No way (and I was about 20 in the early 90s). The 70s had much more diversity, quality and originality. SP is a great exception of late. From the 80s on, the pressure to commercialize killed the quality of most of the professional rock scene. Now when the music distribution monopolies are broken, we already see a great come back. There is hope again.
Video killed the radio star. The music of the 60s and early 70s was just the best. We can all credit lsd for that. If I never hear most 80s music again, I won't miss it. The indie scene is bringing quality back to music again, but there will never be the volume of excellent stuff like there was in the 60s period.
I really love SP's softer songs.
I have this cd. I need to put it back in rotation. Some songs make you run to the computer, this one in a good way.

Aaaahhhh, that hits the spot. Thanks RP.

It has a couple of crappy songs on it but for the most part it's a pretty sweet album. My favourites are Soothe, Whir, Obscured, Starla and La Dolly Vita. Pretty slow ones, but damn good.
This was my second Pumpkins album... Heard Siamese Dream first, loved it, then this. Took me a while to learn to love Gish after this one. Very mellow and nice, Pices Iscariot. I know I did them out of order but that's just what happened. Still like this album a lot, and that says something that it has staying power.
not my favorite Smashing Pumpkins cd, but still good. Call me what you will but it's all about Siamese Dream and Gish for me. Thats right Gish too. The rest can go in the pile. I miss these guys dammit. WTF happened to young rock?
smashingly melodic pumpkins - very good stuff.

Agreed, there is just something about that guy.

This song is deserving the rare 10 i will put out. maybe cause the pumpkins are my favorite band ever. maybe cause this song just has something about it that expressed the true soul of billy corgan. its pretty, relaxed, different. They always did their own thing. man i love this song!!!

Love love LOVE this one! Thanks for the beautifully obscure pumpkins. Their version of Landslide on Pisces is great too.
After hearing their grossly whiney version of Landslide I vowed to pass on this group. After hearing this song I am rethinking that judgement. Thanks Bill! The best part of waking up is RP and a cup...

Great Song! Now someone should upload Starla!

Wow, back in the day, I used to love the SP around the Mellon Collie era, but I thought I had exhausted their quality music. Somehow I missed this album; this is great!
8) great album
You might as well consider SP's b-sides collections to be albums as well. They were that good.
BEEEEYOOOOOOOOOTEEEFUL!!!!!!
Great CD - can't believe its been 11 years since the release
Sweet.
First! Gotta like the pumpkins. I say 8.
