Whoh 1998 I remember Druder & Dorfmeister these guys were pretty big. My Euro friends would play this all the time, and was a favorite downtempo end-of-night selection. Sometimes drugs were involved. Not me of course...

Not YOU of course!  LOL!
RP introduced me to K&D, Now I Like a LOT  of their music!! That is why we come here. Thanx RP!
Just came across K&D again while celebrating the life of Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode. They did a great remix of DM's Useless.

RIP Fletch

I Agree!!

Oh yeaaa {#Cheesygrin}

First heard this pair on a boy’s trip to Amsterdam and listening to the “G-Stoned” album is, bizarrely, one of the few things I can still remember about the weekend!

Legendary classy downbeat from vienna, magic !!!

many thx for playin' tunes like this
By all logical rational reasons, I should despise this song. Instead I kind of like it {#Stupid}
Classic albums - so cool!
The horror...

It's the guy from Tosca and the guy from Peace Orchestra.  From before either of those.  Great memories of a great time in electronic music.  I love their album from the DJ Kicks series.
Why haven't I heard this here before?
Very coooool.

This is exactly what I'm starting to write now :) For me both CDs of this double album are fine.
If you like this, buy the album now. Worth it just for the first side, especially Lamb's Trans Fatty Acid. (And, if you're reading, Susy, the second side is pretty good too. Know you've probably never listened to it…)
kinda brings to mind the brazilian jazz of Praful...the album with "Sigh"

Not easy to come up in Germany with this genre! So they dissapeared! Sorry for that!

Seeing as they are austrian, you would have to look a bit more east, and a bit more to the south. ;)

Between Tosca, Peace Orchestra and their other projects, they are still DJing, producing and working on their label G-Stone. The Wiki link above has more information and links.

They're actually Austrian {#Wink}
These guys are great, but my favorite is Richard Dorfmeister's side project Tosca, especially the album Suzuki.  Probably my favorite electronic album.  Peter Kruder also released a solo project as Peace Orchestra in 1999 which is excellent.  The song "Who Am I" was used in The Animatrix.
Husband: "I'm Kruder"
Me:  "I'm Dorfmeister."
Husband, in weird accent: "together ve are Kruder and Dorfmeister."
One of the seldom seen good german musicians!

AMEN to that. Also can flush Thom's solo material along with the radiohead.

I remember hearing much more K&D and similar acid jazz acts on RP 4 or 5 years ago than now..

K & D are godlike !!  {#Hearteyes}

You'll be there? Glad to know it. I'll be here getting a root canal and glad I'm not there. Argh.
KINGS of Drum and Bass!!! I think this album has a fantastic cover of a Depeche Mode song... I am not sure.
Yum
Ya-yo!
Nice song from a very, very nice (double) album.
if you dig this, you might also dig anything ever produced on the UK record label "Good Looking" https://www.goodlooking.org/

RP name for this track is incorrect. The actual name of this track is: Count Basic - Gotta Jazz (Richard Dorfmeister Remix) It is from Kruder & Dorfmeister - The K&D Sessions™
Austria does well, too! Spherical...
Liking these guys more all the time :D

I actually bought htis CD because I'd heard htis track, plus two more on a differnt radio station. There is some very good stuff on it. My favourite is the one done with Depeche Mode.
Last moments of this track sampled from porn?
Fancy! This is great stuff.

Indeed, this particular song is a remix of a Count Basic song (de.wikipedia.org learns me that this is an Austrian band).
Thank you, coding_to_music! You've got good taste, Mr. coder, sir.

Hey, wasn't he the fat guy in "Animal House"?
Has a real good groove to it.

This double disk set is excellent. Perfect for anyone who enjoys either chilled out beats or nice, low volume ambient music. It is all a little jazzy, a little etherial, a little loungy. Great stuff!
I agree I bought this album with out knowing anything about them just as I was getting into this type of "lounge" music, and it still remains one of my favorites. Great discription of it's sound too.
Hmmmmmmmmm.... truely eclectic. Nicely chilled - straight-off an 8.
