and now I am AWAKE, by golly....
Pas mal les culs terreux {#Clap}
Great tune, but Ozzie's hairy armpits below ruined my day
DON'T SCROLL DOWN -  What has been seen cannot be unseen! {#Drunk}
Slappin knee..... drinkin whisky......
Now THAT'S how you play harmonica!!!!  YASSSS!  {#Dance}
 There's a whole slew of songs like this with the train chuggin' type of beat and they are all pretty cool.

Oh boy.  Here comes the new wave Blood, Sweat and Tears.
Apropos of nothing, I'd really like to hear John Popper play Randy Rhoads' solo from the other "Crazy Train" on harmonica.

Blackfoot's Train Train for me.

Loved this foot stomping song. It's gonna go down well with my railroad colleagues at the annual Enginemen's Ball!
Bill--I miss your posting of the year a song came out. Also miss studiocam.

I think that every time this comes on.
Sadly, the Waifs are no more and are highly unlikely to reunite. Fun song

A song for my next hootenanny.

...all aside - wicked harp... imo

This is one "Crazy Train" that doesn't go off the rails.

Completely!  Actually was hoping for that song.  Off to YouTube for a bit.

Met John Mayall. Had drinks with him. He very well might/may have played this. Or maybe his wife, Maggie would have. She's got/had an all-girl band called Maggie Mayall and the Cadillacs that kicked some butt.
Love the music, accompanying vocals/lyrics are weak/annoying though

Uuuhhh, one of the waifs needs to be shaved, no?

A waif (from the Old French guaif, stray beast)<1> is a living creature removed, by hardship, loss or other helpless circumstance, from his original surroundings. The most common usage of the word is to designate a homeless, forsaken or orphaned child, or someone whose appearance is evocative of the same.

As noted, describes Josh well.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HOOOOO !
Saw these guys/gals perform this at a festival accompanied by two other groups jamming with them. The newcomers had never heard the track but they all had such fun together the other stages had to stop because people were streaming over to see what the fuss was all about after 20 minutes. Yep, 30 minute marathon.

The beginning of this song sounds like another that I know from the late 70's.  Anybody else get that?  I don't remember which group or song so any help to answer this question would help me get it out of my head.

In all seriousness, it wouldn't hurt.

But for your edification, Christopher Walkin is really tired of people on the internet beating that gag to death by referencing that skit and wants us to stop.

And by Christopher Walkin, I actually mean me, but I thought it might hold more weight if I attributed it to him.  :(

Ha ha! When I read that I looked to see if you were, in fact, Christopher Walken. Alas ... But his More Cowbell skit is one of his funniest contributions to contemporary culture and I suspect he enjoys the references.

"More cowbell" is one of the most recognizable memes in recent pop culture history. . .

Brings back memories of the Railroad Tycoon games...

Contrary to popular beliefe, not all women shave.

This song rocks and deserves a dancing banana

Wow, this doesn't sound anything like the Ozzy tune.
Lordy!  If I heard them live, I think my feet would disembody from my legs I'd be dancing so hard.
Sweet intro. Nice cover.

The first time I saw them there were 9 people in the room. They've done well.
No one can do American roots music like a fair dinkum Aussie band.

I have enjoyed everything by The Waifs that I've heard here on RP. Fresh young voices picking up the threads of a solid musical tradition.

Just because two songs share the same title doesn't mean one should follow the other, that amateur hour segwayin'.
I was so into the intro just now that I couldn't believe that I had rated this a 3 last time...and then the vocals started, and I was underwhelmed and disappointed all over again. They lose me after that, for the most part. But the instrumental part has my inner Cajun all a-groovin'.

I'll bump it up to a 6 for the country jamboree factor.
....and there I was thinking Michele Shocked had something out that I didn't know about {#Clap}

What's up with that? No Elvis and no Ozzie?

this is weak. the harmonica sounds like a cornball tv theme from the 70s and the vocals, horrid and inauthentic. if Johnny Cash or Elvis heard this they would roll over in their graves. go listen to Mystery Train (Elvis 56, and you will know what I'm talkin about
Reminds me of early John Mayall, which I mean as a compliment.
LOVE the Waifs. Can't believe I never heard of them before RP. Are they still together? Touring? EDIT: I bought this double live set over a year ago, and it's still one of my most-played. The whole thing is FANTASTIC.
Dang it this is smokin
See them live at what ever the cost! The Waifs are amazing!!

It is going to be at least another year before the TVA gets the electricity lines into the village in the Holler where you sharecrop some 'Bacca ..... Now listen to this great rocking Hill Billy Song. Yee Hah!

I agree. They seem to have lost their Aussie accents a little here...
Somebody's been listening to Sonny Terry The original would be better, but this ain't bad at all.
The rest of their albums are great fun but this song is just nuts all over. In a good way! =)
Sounds like Michelle Shocked. Not that I'm complaining.

Yeeee...Haw!
... seem them do this live they're so cool an' they enjoy doin' what they do so much!
Interesting... Mystery Train? Ozark Mt. Daredevils? Nope. The Waifs. sounds like somebody was having too much fun!
This album's been out at least two years - d'you suppose someone just uploaded this track?
