Saw them at the Clearwater Jazz Festival last fall.  They put on an awesome show.  Amazing how 3 people put out so much music.

No, she's absolutely correct. Possessing a personal opinion is everyone's right, but it has nothing to do with the actual quality of the piece. Some people can recognize quality; many more just can't. There's a reason why the terms good taste and bad taste exist. Once again, if all opinions are equal, there is no baseline for quality, and then you have nothing.

I like the sound of fingernails on the blackboard and I like the sound of a good dialogue between members of the feline nation. You would probably appreciate it too but you obviously don't understand a thing they are saying; probably because of their thick, valley-girl accents. Allow me to translate: They are arguing over a bowl of skim milk. One claims that it tastes great while the other insists that it is less filling. Keeping this in mind, perhaps you won't be "literally foced" to change to a different station next time.

Unidentifiable noises: We usually don't hear cats being spun on a turntable (sounded very tortured and unpleasant to my ears). I didn't really have a chance to get into it once those sound effects kicked in. Maybe next time it will sound different to me. But for now I feel traumatized. :-&
