Now that our ties are served
As we wave goodbye
Let us not wonder whether
We are ready to take the dive

Let it dive,
let it die,
let it fade out of sight
Let it drag us down,
let it fade

Grieve, but not grieve together
Mourn with nothing to say
Gone are those times forever
Lost are those sweet warm other days

Let it dive,
let it die,
let it fade out of sight
Let it drag us down,
let it come between you and I

Let it dive,
let it die,
let it fade

Where we born to despair?
Deeds done but not forgiven
There will always be something there
As long as one of us goes on living

Let it dive,
let it die,
let it fade out of sight
Let it drag us down,
let it come between you and I

What is done is done,
no reason to apologize

Let it dive,
let it die,
let it fade

This is a solid 7 from me, underrated for sure

I do admit that you might expect a band with a name like this to be a little more "rockin."

Nice group going to do a deep dive on spotify with this group

I disagree. Try this:
TrailOfDead
Long ago i read an article about this band , allegedly their band name was inspired by Alejandro Jodorowski movie.
Ok, this isn't great/innovative/inspired/inspiring or the like. But at least it's far better than anything that ever came from U2.
This cut is atypical and is not how the band usually sounds.  That being said, it's still awesome.  Try their album Tao of The Dead, you'll like it.

Probably due to the flat, monotone vocalist.

Exactly how I feel about this song.

Next please, skip.
Oooff, like a bad Oasis cover band.

Scary thing is that I just realized I own another one of this band's albums, which I must have listened to no more than twice after buying it some seven years ago now...

Oasis
Thought it was Smashing Pumpkins. Glad it's not. I like this song - it's fitting in quite nicely with my controlled-hysteria mood (long story, not worth posting.)  I'm giving it a 7 for now, but I suspect next time I hear it, I'll bump it to an 8. Especially if the toilet works (uh, part of that long story, and not in any way reflecting on this song, the artist, or RP in general.)

Why do we not have a facepalm icon??

I loved this bands cover of the Monkees Porpoise song, so I went and downloaded a bunch of their other stuff and No sir! Don't like it!{#No}

A jumping banana means the song plays well with people who like bananas.

This one's been in my running playlist for months. Great for pushing up hills.
Not as interesting as the title of the album its from.  Conjures memories of discussions about Cradle of Filth for any IT crowd fans out there.
I really like And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. I gave this a 9.  There's a rhapsodic quality to their music that I find almost uplifting.

This song is probably the best on the album. The rest of the album is just bad and wacky.

i like source code and tags from these guys, so i bought this cd when it first came out. i try very hard to like, and i still don't. have to hand it to RP, this is the best song on this POC, so they did find something from this cd.
This song frackin' rocks!

Good song, thought it was Oasis.
Solid song. I like it.

I really like the album. Actually I got into it for the last 3-4 songs on it. Sometimes Bill plays them straight through and they work really well as a complete set. Some great music, from my perspective.
Another Austin band.
Just checked out the album on iTunes...this seems to be the only decent song on the whole thing. Not bad though, very Oasis like.
Haha. What rec exec told them to drop the "and you will know us by the..."?
this sucks! Is this Oasis with another name? puke vomit purge barf etc......

Please see what this man is whining about.
this is the kind of thing thats okay when you hear it in the background of a movie, but not so much as the soundtrack of your life.
Not the sound I would expect from a band called And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. I'm in agreement with all those thinking we don't need another Oasis.
That Scottish thing, sort of bag-pipey, U2-ish, Big Country.

So, this sounds like a band trying to sound like Oasis, who was a imitation of the Beatles, who - for various reasons - I'm not fond of to begin with. Imitation is not always flattery, sometimes it's just flat.

I'll second that. What a let down after John Lennon....
Oasis wasn't that great to begin with.. an imitation doesn't help a lot.
Wall of sound guitars, somewhat annoying, repetitive vocals....
*yawn* sounds too much like Oasis. Nope.
Sure does sound a lot like Oasis... Nobbad, though.
I can't hear this song without thinking of EA Sports' "MVP Baseball 2005." Why? Because this was always the first tune that cranked up when you loaded the main menu. It's not that it's a bad song, but man I grew tired of hearing it.
I like it anyway! Nice segue from Dada.
I agree it's musically boring, they could have added a gnarly bagpipe for fun!

Neologistically speaking, it is one who employs a vat to crazily change the colors of things. That's simple, Boileymon, if flippant. But I like your question.
One thing I miss about the old days of albums is some of the great art work on them. This one looks pretty good.

So do I, but it doesn't always fit on a marquee. Or an ID3v1 tag.

One Oasis was more than enough.
Sheesh. I second the motion. Speakers back way way low.
Yuk - this is about as bland an unoriginal as rock and roll can get.
Jimi, MK, SRV, Miles...and now... this??
Can't we just put the guitar and drums on loop in the beginning of the song and mute his voice? Please?
musically, this piece is very boring

I love the typical stuff, but I too really enjoyed the break, and sorry to see it over
Tried to get into these a few times in the past but always thought they were a little OTT. This is very good though, may have to give 'em another go. Went together very well with the Arcade Fire track before it.

awesome AWESOME group. give them a serious listen if you like a little heavy rotation. It may take 2-3 listens but it will be worth it. The DVD included on the newest CD (Worlds apart) is very entertaining

This is my first ever post in the RP forums although I've been listening for years. I wanted to talk about one of my favorite bands. The Trail of Dead is quite good. I own their collection and hold their Source Tags and Codes CD in my top ten, along with things like Dylan, The Beatles, Zeppelin, and Miles Davis. Check out an album to see how diverse they can be.
This grates. Ack.
The first time I've ever heard this song, But I like it.
Sure they have the Oasis feel--so what? I like it. the anti-Oasis crowd is simply wrong.
ok guys, I'm tuning out now. if I wanted to hear this sort of generic bs I'd go elsewhere....
This song is ok, but it sure is in heavy rotation.
