Me too, me too.  Saw Chuck at a small outdoor venue in Carbondale, CO a couple years back.  Great show and got to talk to Chuck and got his autograph on a CD.  Nice guy and into it.  Doesn't get the respect he deserves.

And for the record, it's not a "blame the victim" song, it's a "love is blind" song. When you're in love, you see what you want to see and filter out the rest. No amount of advice from friends is going to change your mind ("You saw a light I saw a freight train coming'. I tried to tell you he was no damn good"). I read in New Scientist (UK serious science mag) a while back that 'bad boys' are popular amongst some women because they're exciting and different, whereas 'nice guys' are preferred for settling down with. I don't think he's blaming the victim.  There comes a point when you have  to take a stand no matter what.  Women who are abused and fight back often do get killed or badly injured.  But if they don't fight back, their assailant will eventually kill or injure them anyway, so the woman has no choice but to fight back.

Anyone hear this guy when he was in Green On Red?  I have happy memories of pogoing furiously at one of their shows in a ratty pub in London back in the late 80s ("when rock music was proper rock"™) .   He seems to have quietened down a bit since then, but good to hear he's still around.

This is one of those discs that is full of great songs. What's really nice is how many interesting sounds Prophet pulls off in the record. I highly recommend this disc.

Chuck rocks. Another somewhat similar artist is Ike Reilly. Highly recommended.

Me too. This was one of the first of countless songs I've heard on RadioParadise that I've never heard anywhere else; what's more, I like it a little more every time I hear it.
