Mediocre, mediocre, mediocre - what else can one expect of REM? Overplayed on RP like VanHalen on Classic Rock stations.
Bill Berry please come back. REM needs you. We need you.

Very well said. Unfortunately, many people seem to compare everything they do now to what they put out on Murmur or Reckoning. Their new offerings, while clearly on a differnt path, are no means as bad as many claim. I did read an article in Rolling Stone that their next CD is a return to Document. We'll see.
Not the best by REM, but if a local band had written this, I would be impressed. Would segue nicely to 'Boy with a Coin' by Iron and Wine.
I'm not all that familiar with all of R.E.M.'s output, but this to me has fairly unique styling and seems well-crafted. I like it.
seriously people, this song ain\'t stellar, but it\'s acutally quite likeable IMHO
REM SUCKS! The best they can do is just mediocre crap!
REM always seems to draw a lot of comments - and + alike. I really like this song/band/album I don't care what anyone says.

and a fat one it will be too. How about Gardening at Night, Wolves Lower, or Chronic Town, instead of this dreck, Bill? This gets a 3 from me.
I can't believe I rated an REM song a 4, but this just doesn't do it for me.
Everything about it sighs "indifference."

c'mon this is not that bad. It's not the REM it used to be, but this is still good stuff.
+1
Weak effort from an otherwise enjoyable band
Pretty generic in all respects.
Well said!
Just plain annoying.
she just wants to be somewhere (where this song isn't!)
Time to draw your pension guys.
Urgh. Pair it with "And She Was" and "All She Wants Is" for the She Who Must Be Turned Off set.
what is this drivel? has the hype totally ensnared these guys? sounds like most other REM songs, except "Bang Blame" - THAT's a jammin' song!

What does this mean exactly, Mari?
Nothing. It means nothing. Abso-frickin-loutley nothing.

The more people that recognize that REM is NO GOOD the closer will get to whirled peas.
This is dreadful.
This is so bad. hard to believe there was a time 15 years ago when REM was my favorite band bay far. O how the mighty have fallen.
boring boring boooooooooring....

Can we have more whiny bad music please?
REM lost their way somehow... a shame
Aside from the Stipe vocal, I wouldn't even know this was REM. Pretty generic in all respects.
Can we have more whiny bad music please?

Not bad, but there's some better stuff on the overlooked Reveal.

Wow...I heard those opening chords and thought, "A song from REVEAL! Yes!"
Glad to know I'm not the only one who appreciates the newer REM.
