Watch me ride...

Take my words and the bass,
Taste, and then swallow me,
I'm chasing the devil
Cos you're level if you follow me
For quality, and I make no apology
For linking my thinking with computer technology.
Cos this is like a modern day hymn
For the new church,
I search for the truth,
I've got a hole in my tooth,
I'm Uncouth, yes sir,
I'm from the street university
Where we learn to earn even in times of adversity.
And I will find the easy way out of a hard time
Petty crime sometime,
But now I'm inclined to find
a fresh direction,
check out the funky section.
Cos this is the part where I start to rip up words,
A comfort coming straight from my heart,
I'm not a mystic, my views are realistic, simplistic,
One special brew I get pissed quick,
And get sick so I don't do it no more,
I won't find peace of mind
Rolling around on the floor.
The point I want to make,
Is you can never escape from your fate,
The mistake is to take without givin',
From within,
You know how I'm living,
I'm cool, I'm looking after myself,
And I could never place wealth before my spirit,
I feel it's unhealthy,
The devil creep around you so stealthy, stealthy
'Till you get bold, rush the gold,
And before you're much older,
You're soul is sold, where's it getting ya,
Competition starts sweating ya,
Gold-diggers setting you up,
Soon be forgetting your existence,
Do you need a for instance,
I have to admire your persistence
In sticking to a game plan,
That brings you pain man,
And at the end of the day nothing is gained,
So listen to the voice within,
I'll see ya later,
Pay heed to the Grand Oral Disseminator.

Quiet, still, you feel there's nothing going on
Until you realise the space behind your eyes
Is filling up with something like peace
As your thoughts cease and
Pleasure grows in your soul.
I ain't a Christian, sometimes
I feel like dissing em, but listen
I'm just trying to tell ya what I know
If you would once relax, chill to the max
These words on wax will cause sweet bells
To ring in your soul.
If I say God is alive I know you wanna know why
Babies die, food don't grow, why trains smash, planes crash
Situation mash and slam bam your fellow man
Money's in fashion, huh, it ain't rational,
Because dam it, he didn't just give us the planet
And its wealth, deep inside your soul he left a piece of himself
The lord is in here. His voice is small.
You keep lying and trying,
Denying the call from inside
You can't hide responsibility
So decide from today just how it's going to be,
Thou shalt have no other god but me,
He can set you free see,
But you have to listen,
And who's that false idol
I see you kissing?
Money, success and untold wealth, good health
And all you have to do is love yourself.
It's a fact you'll attract all the things that you lack,
So just chill
And get off the racetrack
And take a pace back, face facts,
It's your decision,
You don't need eyes to see,
You need vision,
Continue to view the lord as being separated
And you'll be living a lie that's being perpetrated,
For many centuries, I'm on a mission,
These facts in my rap,
I don't sing,
But I want to share the peace that they bring,
My name is G.O.D.

I hate these guys - they owe me bucks for a ticket to a lousy concert of theirs...
Nice to hear Faithless....play more of them.....

Dunno man. This is pretty derivative at best. Certainly not breaking through to any new ground. Pretty tame IMHO.

Though I'm not that into this tune, I appreciate what they are doing and am reminded how much I value of variety here on RP.
That leaves me as an overfed longhaired leaping gnome.

If it was up to me, this would be stickied to be up top at all times, followed by an uncomfortable silence for 3 seconds.
I like...8 - Most Excellent

sadly, I agree. Good Brit trip hop

I Think this is quite likeable.   Most rap I do not like, but when the form is blended with a nice melodic hook ...it gets your ear on the lyric,  and that's what it's all about.  IMO .     I rate it a quite like !
I'm loving it so much I'm giving it a 3.
Not sure this actually qualifies as Rap.  I think Tupac might have something to say about that.  Not bad...not usually my thing, but I'll give it a 6.
Well said.  But I love rap.  This is good stuff.

You "rap sucks" guys really need to listen to what he's saying. It's kind of a universal message, he's just speaking in a different dialect than, you know, U2 or Arcade Fire.

Rap is played out.  Especially bad rap like this.
I like some rap, but this is awful! There's a reason why the rating is so low. Please spare us next time you think about playing this.
Nice!  Love Faithless............chill........
Better than most rap.

Correction: most rap sucks. This, however, is smooth and groovy. :)

Indeed.
...probably a fair comment about many musical genres.

Barbara Bush senior. Very senior.
Simply bar-velous for you!

OK, after hearing it again I went from 1 to 2. The second half of the song isn't so bad.
This is a fantastic funky groove. Freakin' love it.
A steaming pile of crap.

Rather nice.

Nice to hear some early Faithless here. I love Maxi Jazz's voice, so smooth and flowing.  I'm not familiar with this mix though, never heard it with the female vocal before.

agreed!

What a nice, smooth groove for the early morning. The backup singers really make the song, for me.
Sorry, I can't bear rap. Learn to feckin' sing, guys (and it's nearly always guys). Insta-mute.
Faithless are fantastic - would love to hear Insomnia on Radio Paradise my all time favourite dance choon

I'm surprised!  Most of the rap or hip-hop songs I've ever been exposed to are loaded with profanity and defiance, but this is its own genré.  Gentler vocals, a more positive message, and yes, very hypnotic.  I like it.  (I'm waiting for someone to stare at me and demand, "Who are you, and what have you done with Cynaera?!")  {#Lol}

This one grows on you. Play it again, Sam.

Is that Dave Chappelle?
smooth like asian girl's silky hair. soft like babies skin ^_^
I'm not a rap/hip-hop fan at all but I agree... the groove was quite enjoyable.  Very trance-like, and worked nicely to join directly to Buffalo Soldier.
Bill, thanks for expanding our horizons!

C'mon, it's not that bad. I'm no fan of rap, but it's a cool groove.
Kinda cool ... it would be good yoga music ...{#Meditate}
