Contemporary "wall of sound" song. Lots of popmusic is about into your face loudness/power and this is a good example of that.

Have to disagree on that, I found the new album to be excellent. Set the Fire to the Third Bar is an amazing song, and it's surrounded by other good stuff. I like the new album more than this one (Final Straw), actually.

This song is great and so is the album, but it seems like the more I listened to Final Straw the more all the songs start sounding exactly the same, but just with different tempos. Maybe I was just ready for their next album.

Based on their song/video that played on MTV all the time, you know...the one where the guy swinging flares around in the dark, I would not have guess that this song was by Snow Patrol. They sound nothing alike!

Not a bad song from a very well produced album (thanks in part to their support from U2 - try listening to How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb for similarities). There are better songs on this album and the title track, Final Straw, is well presented. Their drummer, Johnny, is a pretty sound fella as well, though his West of Ireland surfing skills need much 'adjustment'....no more than myself! - Steady beats from Mr. Quinn!

I wish that there were something from Songs for Polar Bears or When Its All Over We Still Have to Clear Up, when Snow Patrol did things completely different. I liked the Snow Patrol of Final Straw, but they weren't the same cooky little experimental bunch.
