First time I have heard Trashcan Sinatras on RP.  Looks like they've been played for a while, just I didn't catch them on the rotation.   Loved them since I first heard Obscurity Knocks when living in Aberdeen in ?1990?  Great wordplay in all their songs and not bad live, either.

I've never heard this before , so I read though the lyrics, like you do.............. They mention simple pleasures,  a wife and the hills of Glen Rosa. Glen Rosa is on the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. We spent our honeymoon in Glen Rosa, with the occasional company of a pair of golden eagles. Just us, a two man (?) tent and a motorbike.. way too many years ago to mention. It's got to go in my favourites just for  that

My dad didn't think much of the underlying philosophy but my youngest daughter was amazed by the whole thing and declared it her all-time favorite movie. While rooted in psychedelia, it has a timeless message. I highly recommend it. The music and the animation are great.
 
I have an old VHS version of that film.  I've watched it with my 5 year-old son quite a few times.  It is a little psychedelic but the animation is wonderful and the music is fantastic.  Love Ringo's narration.

That album, Cake, was/is absolutely fantastic. I stumbled on it back in 93 and it still finds itself on the top of my CD pile. Good taste!

"the hills of glenrosa stand in our future ". That's got to be the first reference to the Isle of Arran (off the West Scotland coast, not the Aran Isles off W Ireland) that I've ever heard in a pop song, and makes me warm to it immediately - Glen Rosa is a wonderful place, nestled in magnificent mountain ridges, on a fantastic (out of tourist season) island. That's added an extra point to my rating :)

Actually this song sounds a little like what a post Beatles breakup song might sound like if Geoge Harrison collaborated with Brian Wilson. Bright, jangly pop. The vocals are sort of reminiscent of George as well.
