Uh

Ooh

What, what, what, what
1, 2
1, 2, 3, ooh

Wake up, kids, we got the dreamers' disease
Age 14, they got you down on your knees
So polite, we're busy still saying please

Frienemies, who, when you're down, ain't your friend
Every night we smash a Mercedes-Benz
First we run, and then we laugh till we cry

But when the night is falling
You cannot find the light (Light)
You feel your dreams are dying
Hold tight

You've got the music in you
(Don't let go)
You've got the music in you
(One dance left)
This world is gonna pull through
(Don't give up)
You've got a reason to live
(Can't forget)
We only get what we give

I'm comin' home, baby
You're the tops
Give it to me now

Four A.M., we ran the Miracle Mile
We're flat broke, but, hey, we do it in style
The bad rich, God's flying in for your trial
Ha-ha-ha

But when the night is falling
You cannot find a friend (Friend)
You feel your tree is breaking
Just bend

You've got the music in you
(Don't let go)
You've got the music in you
(One dance left)
This world is gonna pull through
(Don't give up)
You've got a reason to live
(Can't forget)
We only get what we give

Ow

This whole damn world can fall apart
You'll be okay, follow your heart
You're in harm's way, I'm right behind
Now say you're mine

You've got the music in you
(Don't let go)
You've got the music in you
(One dance left)
This world is gonna pull through
(Don't give up)
You've got a reason to live
(Can't forget)
We only get what we give
(Don't let go)
I feel the music in you
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Fly high
What's real can't die

You only get what you give
You're gonna get what you give
(Don't give up)
Just don't be afraid to leave

Health insurance ripoff lying
FDA big bankers buying
Fake computer crashes dining
Cloning while they're multiplying
Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson
Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson
You're all fakes, run to your mansions
Come around, we'll kick your ass in

(Don't let go)
(One dance left)
(Don't give up)
(Can't forget)
(Don't let go)

Sounds a lot like World Party to me, which is a good thing.

No, no ,please not! The FM-stations here are playing this song even TWICE a day, everyday. So please don't do this to me
:nodhead: the song is ok, but it's enough for the next few years
Nice entry in wikipedia on this band.
Laughing at all the comments... I don't care if it was overplayed. I love this song.

Any band that puts "New" in its name is a bad sign.
New Originals? Before they went back to the original Originals?
Good Stuff...perfect with my morning coffee.
No, No, and No. Not nice music Very bad voice(s) Nothing original. It sounds like the Waterboys, Coldplay and REM poored in a mixer, and shaken very well afterwards. It lost everything of what could have made it a good song.
btw keiger, I submitted this song...and then followed it by giving them a $50,000 quarterly donation for this fine place in the universe, based only upon this song that deserves to be here. Any other questions? Next tune I asked for..."How much is that doggie in the window?"...wonder if that will sway them? Arf!
We should all have the dreamer's disease. This song is hopeful, powerful and just damned cool. Overplayed or not. Gives me an attitude in my car, hard for a person of my age and status to acquire. Thank you for playing this. Oh yes.

Ugh, then they follow it with the damnable Van...

Also any song with a "list" as a verse usually sucks.
REM's The End of the World as We Know It notwithstanding.

He also writes songs for other people. Heard he wrote a lot of Rod Stewart's stuff.

yea, knock it off Red Bill. Heuy was the first concert I ever went to... holds a special place for me. And THIS (new radicals) song was the theme song for me and two of my friends our sophomore year of college. We'll all bought this CD for each other for Christmas, and used to listen to it anytime we were together, loudly too. Was a bright spot on one the loneliest periods of my life. Ugh, then they follow it with the damnable Van...
we have to figure out what we did to piss off bill and rebecca that would make them retaliate by playing this song....did everyone remember to give them some money this month?
I always liked this song - like that it says that life is what you make it! \:D/

No...he wore the hat because Marilyn Manson wanted to kick HIS ass in after the song came out. (seriously)

From Mr. T on the the sketch, "In the Year 2000" from Conan O'Brien: In the year 2000, Huey Lewis and the News will form a tribute band to Huey Lewis and the News, just to prove that somebody might actually do that.

Not sure if I want to play air piano or air drums now. Oh, to be an air octopus!
Might this lead singer be from World Party?

Couldn't agree more-
Didn't the singer break the band up because of this song? Something about not wanting such a big hit. I think that's why he always wore the hat, too - he was embarrassed to sing this over and over (seriously)

got me dancing in my cubicle!
guilty pleasure...
One of the very few songs that despite its massive radio play never got tired for me. Guess that's a good reason to have it on RP :-)
Not my favorite song but maybe nice for a Monday morning at least.
This song makes me want to get up and dance. If I had to be a one-hit-wonder, I wouldn't mind at all if this were that hit...

Maybe a bit overplayed back in the day, but so what? It's a fun song. I like it.
Yeah, Baby. Nice to hear the New Radicals here.
