Rollin' down the highway
Like a rocket
God I'm headed to town now
Can't stop it
With the wheels in my hand
As I stand
On the floor
Of the board
Of this car
On the road
Got this woman in the back seat
she's my wifey
In the middle of the delivery
Man she saves me
To this day I don't know why
She picked me up
When i was down on the road
With the wind when it blowed

Well a son's gonna rise in a mile
In a mile
You'll be feeling fine
In a mile you will see
After me
You'll be out of the dark, yeah
You'll get your shot

No you don't, this is great soulful funky music, these other assclowns like Aimee Mann.

Bor off
Amazing how many people listening to RP are happy with sub-standard, below average, meaningless pseudo cool shite like this.

This song is awsome. Glad to hear Cope on RP

Extreamly HORRIBLE!  time to move on  OFF YOU GO
...bleh...
Lacks street cred: Not enough AutoTune.

I strongly disagree with the previous comment.  I think this is a perfect song to follow Ben Harper.  NIce choice!
What a stupid song after three wonderful tracks...

Now Playing: Citizen Cope - Son's Gonna Rise
Ben Harper - Morning Yearning
Todd Hannigan - Thicker Than Water
James - Laid
Excellent!  I uploaded 2 to the LRC last year this time, and was denied.  Blocked at the net.
Great to hear CC here on RP.

That whole CD plays well from start to finish.  Very nice Santana guitar solos make this song standout.
somewhat funky
this guy is cool.
Finally!! The first time I've heard Cope here, and damn glad to hear him! Love this guy. Thanks Bill
This is exactly the sort of music you hear in over-priced clothing boutiques with 16 year-old size 6 shop assistants with no idea of customer service - and where the music is played so loud that they can't hear you anyway. Rating: 1 /grumpy old woman.
Great song! I really like "Sideways" by him, also.

A resounding "Meh." from me, give me Everlast anytime over this crap.
Every time I hear this (WXPN plays it often'ish) I think it's Everlast. I like this song. But I always hope that this time it's Everlast.

Who do you think would win in a fight between Citizen Cope vrs Citizen Kane?
Cope. Kane (Orson Wells) has been dead over 22 years now. This would almost be an unfair fight.
This song defines "Ho-Hum". Not good and not bad.

Wow, haven't heard this song since I moved from Austin -- where they played it ALL the time. Well, I guess they actually played a live version. Either way, good song!

Sounds good but the title scares me.Might be a holy roller
Never thought about that. Have all 3 of his discs and he never seemed overly religious. Thought he'd been getting a lot of airplay, but if you haven't checked him out, do so. This disc is a good place to start.
Sounds good

I've heard this song the past few days on the local "non-commercial" station and I love it. I've got to buy this disc and check out the rest.
