Almost 4 years later and hey: this still sucks to the point of comedy. Just my two cents.

It may happen all the time (as the next person said), but I think she would definitely be interested in the other hottie playing chess...damn.

Maybe she's the best chess player in the group taking a break to bone up on her openings and to let the boys have a go, and if I'm right about what I can see on the board they're making a pig's ear out of it. Is that a white pawn and knight on the 7th rank, the knight en prise?

As boring as it must be to spend time
with the college kids on the cover!

BOOORING! ENDLESSLY!

Aquí hay otra persona que escucha esta estación tan fregona... Saludos
I'm liking it. I've been away from RP for a long time. Nice to be back for a few hours!

Having now heard this several times, I still think the same thing: the vocals sound a lot like Robert Palmer earlier in his career—before he smoked more cigarettes to get his voice raspier (something I heard in an interview with him once).
With singing like that they could just about be the Kings of the Conveniences.

I'll get me coat...
This makes an old curmudgeon very happy.  I better not listen too much.

The "Kings of Convenience" or "The whitest boy alive"-Syndrome. :) Glad to see them live again this year.

Misread and Homesick are better songs off this album but i do really like these guys.
Nice call Bill.  How about some "Whitest Boy Alive" too?!?

Hoppsan, en norrman har hitta hit.  Skål, kämpe grei
I believe it's time for a new album from this group!
Always loved these guys, especially because they were responsible for me finding Feist!

nice and simple good for a sunday evening .
love them guitar chops. a very pleasant canvas for this bit of drivel, and i mean that in a good way
Love this album. It's how I found Feist.
Reminds me of (late-80s to early 90s) China Crisis, but not as complex. I see that RP only has one China Crisis track in play - (click here) - but it's a poor track. Perhaps they will play some of their better tracks someday. Several exceptional albums, my favorite is Flaunt The Imperfection.
Are you sure this isn't Flight of the Conchords?

he's right. I should know! I'm the chick.
I agree with most ppl that it isn't very interesting and it drags on. There are many parts that I hear where some additions would make it sound primo. But i gotta say, these guys know how to groove.

sure the outside package can spark the chemistry but at a deeper level an inviting smile, a fabulous laugh, a witty sense of humour, a gentle touch, an uncanny skill of musical instruments, an intimate knowledge of fine wine and chocolate, ablity to speak french fluently, etc, etc, can also spark a flame.....and I must also mention a fast car or a fat wallet too....
boring it's simple but with no charm of it

Ok, as far as the cover art goes, I am unable to suspend disbelief. As *if* a hottie like that would have any interest in a pencil necked, Elvis Costello bespectacled geek playing chess. Pffffffffffffffffft.....

Maybe "Hate is no Small Lie" should be the lesson from the song? hmm...
This kind of reminds me of the Japanese band Cornelius. Like it. =)
E5 - F7 Mate!! That was certainly more interesting than the 'song'

Or Ikea
Yeah, I vote the latter. Ikea, Pottery Barn, DWR, and if they were wearing more circle motifs, Target.

Right, if said hottie needs help with her homework or something, perhaps maybe...

Great stuff. Absolutely correct. Just listen and you will hear the secrets

Hey hey hey! Let's keep it clean - stop staring at the cover art. What's that you're holding?

I'm still waiting....
This song sure sounds like Surfjan Stevens.
I enjoy their music! I don't have this album but I do have a previous one, which I find all the songs (much as this one is) to be excellent because they all have a constant rhythm to run to during work outs.

Where you think and where they're from are two separate ideas and should be two separate sentences, don't you think? Least that's what my English teachers always taught me.
This song makes me want to continue eating my yogurt, perhaps sprinkle in some granola nuggets.

Norway actually..
I really like this one.
Banjos are so hip right now.
Love these guys.. I think there from Sweden!!! YES.. If you like this there other CD is even better..

I like these guys more every time I hear them. I've got to get this cd...
yawn....
Took the riff from Steely Dan's "My Old School" & slowed it down... Nice song though.
Really like this!
It's started to grow !
might take a few listens before it starts growing !
I can dig it...
mellow. :)
Had to ratchet this one up. Love it.
Reminds me of Phish. Just coincidence or more than that? (I don't know this band.)
Not bad, I like the banjo touch, not something you hear everyday.
This is a sweet fun album that feels kinda timeless.
... sort of reminds me of Sufjan Stevens.
You know, I believe you may be right. tg3k wrote:

I've always liked this-Thanks

the album cover is a nod/wink at the "cool" covers of the 60's and 70's (check out the shag carpet!) to go with the smooth, folk-inspired, "simon&garfunklesque" sound. similar to, if less blatant than, Kruder & Dorfmeister's cover for G-Stoned (click here)
My favorite new band (well, new for me anyway). I've been obssessed with this record for about nine months now. Gotta love the Norwegian Simon & Garfunkel.

The dude on the cover still looks like Elijah Wood a la Frodo Baggins. Pleasant song nevertheless!
Simplicity in music at its best!

The Four Freshman meet jazz fusion to a reggae rhythm guitar. Ho hum. But wait! The instrumental break is pretty! Nice!
On first listen, I think it's good.
nice
This song should be consumed on a full stomach, with a cig and can of Guinness.

I was thinking Belle and Sebastian - but I could be wrong.

I looove Kings of Convenience! So glad to hear it on RP!

wow, that beginning guitar riff sounded an aweful lot like a cool Campervan Beethoven song... 'Seven Languages', I believe it is. Well, now that I'm over my disappointment, this is allright. Kinda catchy.
Interesting mix of instruments. The song is pretty unoffensive, but about the only things that stand out to me are the instrumental parts.
