I know we don't talk much
But you're such a good talker, oh
Well I know we should take a walk
But you're such a fast walker, oh, well alright

I know where I'll be tonight, alright
Outta mind, outta site

Well okay, I know you don't love me
But you'll still be thinking of me, oh
Well alright, I know you probably hate me
That's okay with me, alright

I know where I'll be tonight, alright
Outta mind, outta site

You don't see me now
You don't want to anyhow

Look out, here I come again
And I'm bringing my friends
Look out, here I come again
I'm bringing my friends, okay alright, okay alright

I know where I'll be tonight, alright
Outta mind outta site
Outta mind outta site

Ahhh. The band from Belleville, IL.

Playing near the old Stag Beer Brewery.

They need to get back to their roots and play RnR.

Strong Beck vibes

Here's a 9

If your'e reading this I love you, you are loved, you are love, spread the love

Another way to phrase that might be, :Their first four albums were my style, and their more recent stuff was for a different audience."

Go see them play that live in concert. Might change your mind. It rocks and Nels Cline goes absolutely psychotic during his solos.
Difference between being a 30 year old and a 50 year old, methinks. Sky Blue Sky may be their finest album.

Saw them at a great old theater venue in Portland Maine 2003.
WOW - one of the best concerts ever!

Oh... Impossible Germany rocks. You just have to wait for it.

Missed this band the first time around.  Glad I now them now.

That should be the name of their next tour when they play NO HITS AT ALL!

That was my guess--although the C on the A string seems, um, light. Then again, you can hammer that string for a different effect.
Holy crap, Batman! A rocker from otherwise low-key and PSD'able Wilco. More wonders and signs. Rack up an 8 on the big board!
Chanelling (the other) Elvis! (Costello)

Hey Zeus, a Wilco song not on depressive medication.

They get that rap against them all the time, but they have rocked out at times.

Well if that is correct it is a:

Never played it.  Doesn't sound bad just not familiar with it.

Um, I don't miss him. I never knew him. I just know the havoc he wreaked when he was here, and while he was a troll, he made sure to kick the RP anthill so complacence wasn't an option. Sometimes we need that, so we don't have tapioca for brains and bananas for backbones.

Bowing, grudgingly, to Excelsior who, like Harlan Ellison, was able to raise the hackles of any thinking person. Dubious honor, but honor nonetheless.

ducking and running...

Maybe Excelsior was just a character invented by Bill, meant to keep us all on our toes, but got retired after even Bill got too stressed out by the Ex-man's crazy rants

I'm half expecting a post out the blue that goes along the lines of..."It's Excelsior..I'm back from rehab, AND HOW COME THIS CRAP IS STILL ON THE PLAYLIST? BILL GONE DEAF AND DUMB?

This is a perplexing band; they have put out 2 really good albums; YFH and the one with Billy Bragg so it shows they can do it when it all clicks right I suppose. Maybe they should just quit, you know some bands only have one or two good albums in em. Oh well, that's just the way it goes.{#Stupid}

So you're saying that A.M., Being There, & Summer Teeth aren't "good"?  Now you've got me scratching my head.

I don't see what the big deal is. Boring mainstream pop/rock...........
we seem to be having a stream of it today which is unusual for RP

Wilco, SunVolt, Radiohead..........   WTFE.........
RP plays enough great music to make up for it I guess.

When did Wilco become mainstream?

Any idea as to why "The Ex-man" just up and vanished from RP?

Blowaway set: What is Life, Town Called Malice, Outtasite, just keep turning it up louder and louder. Thanks Bill

Clicked thru to post that it sounds like Replacements. now looks like others think the same

One of rock's best double albums... ever! This album is right up there with some of the most classic double albums of all time. It was right on the cusp of their transition from roots band to artsy hipsters, so it's got a real roots feel (very Stonesy throughout) with very well placed artsy textures & arrangements that don't detract from the great songwriting, which I feel has happened on some of their later albums. It's great to be creative, but if your creativity detracts from your songs, then it's a shame. This is not the case on this album at all. A great "college years" album, which just picks up on the melancholy & exuberance of being young, poor, creative, in-love, heartbroken, jaded & hopeful. Everyone should own this album... you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely dead on target comments / observations, IMHO.  I saw Wilco in the Albany, NY area at a complete (but famous) dive out in the sticks during their tour for this CD.  It ranks as one of the best live shows I've EVER seen.  They played for about 3 hours iirc and at the end of the show Tweedy donned a gold lame jacket and dove into the crowd.  At one point, I remember him passing over the heads of me and my friends...thinking to myself...this band is going to have quite an interesting career.  They may get a lot of airplay here on RP but IMHO, it is absolutely deserved.  Rock on Mr. Tweedy and colleagues.  Thanks Bill!!!

I know you don't love me but you still been thinking of me

Wilco is the bomb (as the kids say.)

Excellent live as well.

Yeah, before I saw that it was Wilco I was thinking, "Oh, cool, a Paul Weterberg song". Either way, the song rocks.

This was the first Wilco song I had ever heard way back then, and instantly, I loved it. So since Wilco's in heavy rotation on RP, I kept wondering why I adored this song, but the others were just sorta...there.

Now I know it's the Westerberg Effect. Mystery solved.

Look out!
She's a Fast Walker.

Sounds like something Jerry would complain to Elaine about!

Is it just a trick of the RP playlist tonight, or does Jeff Tweedy sound vaguely like the lead singer of the Replacements? Never noticed that til now.
Monday and Outtasite on the same day, happy one for me listening to RP!
Outtasite... Sounds Finnish. Ei sa peittÀÀ!!!
Twweedy can do no wrong. Great song from a fantastic double album!

Got it! I didn't know RP ignored all of Paul W.'s solo work, which does seem a bit weird. While it has been more miss than hit for me (and I'm a fan), he has had a few great cuts sprinkled over 15 years of solo output. Off the top of my head, World Class Fad, Runaway Wind and Knockin' on Mine from the first record, and Aint' Got Me along with Love Untold from the 2nd certainly would be worthy additions to the playlist here. And Dyslexic Heart was a decent pop song from the Singles soundtrack.

I like to think that this and its counterpart Outta Mind (Outta Sight) as an homage to Neil Young's My, My, Hey, Hey (Out of the Blue) and Hey, Hey, My, My (Into the Black) from the album the began grunge music. That album was ripped off by tons of people. Wilco didn't rip it off, but honored it rather well.

Ahhhhhh..... Finally heard this here. 10+ and then some. Doublelpusgood. Now that's rock & roll, baby!
The good lord created the number "10" so there would be a way to describe Wilco at their best. This instantly brightened my day. A pop/rock tune that has it all (Hammond B-3! Rickenbackers!) and shows that Wilco has created more classics that most people have never heard than anyone else. TJ
It's Disc 1.
I haven't actually heard this on RP yet. Is it the hard rockin' Disc 1 version or the Brian Wilson style Disc 2 version? Either one would be great, but the guitar heavy version would get a 10 from me. The other, maybe an 8.
w00t! Wilco rocks.
Yeah.
