If you'd like to walk a while
We could waste the day
Follow me into the trees
I will lead the way

Bring some change up to the bridge
Bring some alcohol
There we'll make a final wish
Just before the fall

Promise I will be forever yours
Promise not to say another word
Nevermind what's done is done
Always was a lucky one

Watch the sunrise all alone
Sitting on the tracks
Hear the train come roaring in
Never coming back

Laying quiet in the grass
Everything is still
River stones and broken bones
Scattered on the hill

Promise I will be forever yours
Promise not to say another word
Nevermind what's done is done
Always was a lucky one

Promise I will be forever yours
Promise not to say another word
Here forever deep beneath the dirt
Nevermind what's done is done
Always was a lucky one

David Grohl is one of the nicest guys who ever lived .
The acoustic album was a game changer for me.
RIP Taylor Hawkins

Are you a Patriot? A person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors? So yeah man, get jabbed for the greater good.

This song was good for about a minute. Then it was just droning.
But, but, they're so QUIET
Nice to hear a Foo Fighters tune that doesn't turn into a screamfest by the end of the song.

First time I heard this: at the ends of a Kleptones album..
From Dave Grohl?

STILL

"Still is probably the first song I ever wrote that comes close to any sort of storytelling. It's about my being a kid, going to the lake by my house on a Saturday morning and seeing all these ambulances and fire trucks because someone decided to kill himself by sitting on the train tracks. When you're a child, you're so naive, you have no idea what's really going on, and you start to explore and find yourself playing with pieces of the....it's a pretty gory story, actually, but it happened."

I tapped a tune like this on my family piano when I was 12, thought it was pretty. Lyrics like a 1st year poetry major. Only missing "standing in the rain", and "I don't know why I feel so bad", or "I will always love you". As deep as silk.
i hear a bit of Massive Attack thrown in there...

How about I pity the Foo!
Heard this first via Kleptones... it's odd hearing it this way.

Wow! This is and always has been my favorite Foo Fighters song. Spooky but settling, and brings a dark pine-y green to mind. Always brings me deep, deep into the woods of my mind.

Nice! Thanks for sharing your Rhaphidophoridae horror story.  We don't get many of those here.
Just announced they will headline the Friday pyramid stage at Glastonbury this year.

I bet they are rather please with that.

I shall be having to watch from the sofa as I failed to obtain tickets. . .*note to self - find someone who has access to free passes!*

Of course people have different opinions - that's the point I was attempting to make.  Unlike your post, there was no "put down" intended; I was working in the assertive tone of the post to which I was responding; i.e.,

There would be far less shrines to Kurt Cobain without Dave's very fundamental (and vastly under-appreciated) contribution to Nirvana.

"Still" and "Everlong" - they just never came out with any songs that could match those. I love them both.  There have been derivative versions of those two, and that tends to make matters worse.  I have always felt they are capable of much more than those two songs, but it probably won't materialize.  At least it hasn't, IMO.  Keep fighting, fighters of foo.

loving the foos here. The aucoustic "soft side" CD In your Honor has 10 like this. Good getting in the mood muzak. Then, when your work is done with the girl, you can move on to the hard rock side of In Your Honor, drink some beer and get in a fight! Good stuff.

Awesome! Great song! Esp. the piano is a beautyful!

Sounds like these guys try real hard to create some good music, and I like that...but it still seems to come a little short of something really compelling where I'd want to buy their stuff and listen to a full albums worth.  The emotions there, but they dont seem to be saying anything that I need to hear.
I am a big fan of the FF, however, I think this album is the worst.
They have some jewels like "The Color and the Shape" or " Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" which are absolutely GREAT!!

1. I think the most obviously errant part of this comment is that you seem to think that FF is just Nirvana without Cobain. FF has ONE former Nirvana member, the drummer. This isn't like comparing Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship - they're totally different. 2. I think the frontman of a hard rock band SHOULD be a circus act. 3. If you have a problem with people being disappointed with life, okay. But let's not pretend like millions of people aren't just like him (myself included, some days). If you're never self-absorbed and pissed at the world once in a while, I honestly don't think I've met another person in the world like you. It's not uppers is it? 4. The history of rock music, if it shows anything at all, is that you don't have to be the best musician to be good. Cobain expressed how a lot of people feel sometimes, in a fairly original way. I'm sorry it's not your thing. But I think you're being pretty rude about it.
