Didn't know what time it was, the lights were low
I leaned back on my radio
Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll, "Lotta soul," he said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
That weren't no DJ, that was hazy cosmic jive

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

I had to phone someone, so I picked on you
Hey, that's far out, so you heard him, too
Switch on the TV, we may pick him up on Channel Two
Look out your window, I can see his light
If we can sparkle, he may land tonight
Don't tell your papa or he'll get us locked up in fright

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile

He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

Starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile

He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

Mick Ronson is a great guitarist. Perhaps he's severely underrated or simply overshadowed by David Bowie. His playing on "Moonage Daydream" is appropriately out of this world.
Hey William,
Even if one of my best.... 3 times since 10 days, I think that you can find some more stuff within his 40 or 50 albums...

There are worse ways to spend your time.

Iā€™m sure Bowie tired of the Ziggy phenomenon but I sure like to revisited it often since its conception.

Might be a new mix, this doesn't sound like the mix from the '72 album.

Nonsense -- Bowie was no punk. Otherwise he would have been forgotten by now.

The Starman is looking at all the people voting hateful politicians and tyrants into office, and the war in Ukraine, and the repressive societies in the Middle East, and all the poverty while robber barons amass countless billions of dollars, and he's just skipping the whole thing and will check back in another 1000 years.
I'm waiting for Pink Floyd

Starman was always my favorite.

Drive your roadster to Mars, Starman. Don't forget your towel.
Hey, it's that song from The Martian.  {#Nyah}
I got wise to David's whole Ziggy Stardust thing in '82, bought the cassette, and proceeded to turn all my friends on to it. They freaked!

Meanwhile, PSD to Quicksilver Messenger Service.

I wondered over the years if Zaphod Beeblebrox and Ziggy Stardust were somehow related...
A desert island album for sure!  Dare I say - I believe RP could put a bit more timeless Bowie in the mix!!!

Art, You have rated as many songs 1,2, or 3 as you have 8,9, or 10. So it appears that most if not at least half of the songs that are played here you dislike immensely.

Maybe it's time to move to another internet radio station?

Well, I guess we've progressed somewhat as a musical "society" since I was between the ages of 14-20, because 30+ year-old music at that time included the era of Glenn Miller & The Andrews Sisters, and believe me, we weren't calling that "retro" or cool in 1975!
