Get straight, wait here while I try to find the exit sign
When will you stop asking strangers?
No one wants what we want
Keep one eye on the door, keep one eye on the bag
Never expect to be sure

You're working for the police and the private
The pirates and the pilots
Fingerprinted, waiting for the train
The doctor, the writer, the hairdresser
Felt up and fingerprinted, waiting for the train
Lord, lord, mother, we are all losing love
Lord, listen lover, we are all missing mama
Lord, lord, mother, we are all losing love
Lord, listen lover, we are all missing something (I don't got)

There's a place that ends here
I know when they close the gates, I'll cry
I'm so tired of never sleeping
The whole world wants what we're on
Didn't make this up, I learned
I learned it from a friend
My friend is coming clean, she told me
"Keep one eye on the door, keep one eye on the bed
Never expect to be sure who you're working for."

You're working for the police and the private
The pirates and the pilots
Fingerprinted, waiting for the train
The doctor, the writer, the garbage collector
Fingerprinted, waiting for the train
Lord, lord, mother, we are all losing love
Lord, listen lover, we are all missing mama

Lord, lord, mother, we are all losing love

Got to get out
Got to get to you, the orphanage is closing in an hour

Honestly!  I'm quite frankly sick and tired of all these (seemingly) older listeners complaining about the advancement of music.  Sorry folks, we're in 2008, check your calender and get with the times or invent a time machine to take you back to your beloved sixties and seventies.  {#Razz}
Not as engaging or creative as Rock Me Now....

+1
Annoying
I think I understand why this follows Libertango. There's that one piece of background that sounds like a continuation of the theme.
Yes its pop, and yes Metric was played to death on the radio, but I still can't get enough of that voice. Amazing live too.
Metric has such a great sound. This is the first I've heard from this album. Time to update the ol' collection!
Metric Fans truly want to hear:Monster Hospital or Poster Girl, or Dead Disco not whatever this is!
Would luv to hear 'Poster of a Girl'!
Musically, sounds like a long radio commercial.
I just like the sound

I'm not crazy about this one either, but seriously, dude ... why are you here?
This band is so over-rated. Emily Haines has talent and her solo album comes out in Canada very soon. Stay tuned, it may be the best move she's ever made...

wtf is right. Since when was RP an oldies, classic rock station? At least we've pinpointed the source of your error and our frustration. Now if you'd kindly seek out one of the hundreds of classic rock stations and leave us in peace... Likeable tune, and a new band by me.

was no other keyboardist available besides Wesley Willis?
Delicious!
Nothing here to distinguish it from any number of unmemorable pop songs currently pumping from your local Hot 95 or 97 Jams or the like.

I like this song a lot. Any word on the rest of the album?
What can I say about the rest of the "live it out" album except "leave it out". Apart from that, this one song deserves an 8.

I like this album quite a bit, would recommend it. It's all I've listened to in my car for the last three days. I'm a fan of the really crunchy tunes, like Monster Hospital.
I saw these guys play in a farmers field in Rollo Bay, PEI last summer....it was amazing!
metric mania
I thought for sure this was Frente.

I've seen them live. They have GREAT energy on stage and Emily, the lead singer is insatiably sexy!
She's So Succexy! I've seen them live too, and they're fantastic

That's why we're glad that Bill & Rebecca run this station and not you!

This song could not be sillier - and yet her voice is cool, the melody is nice... It works.

Wrong. It sounds exactly like Jenny Lewis.
Play more Metric!
This song is simply beautiful, like the Jeff Beck song that came after it.

sweet band. vive le canada
Is this the girl from Frente! ?
I like 'em, even tho' she sounds like a Fiona Apple rip off
I love how the song stays suspended in that groove… the drummer doesn't hit the snare once… very cool.
Meh.

No! I was referring to manchesters post - I was too slow...
Oh, ok.
Metric is one of those bands who have some pretty cool stuff but just havent gotten it together hit-wise They are from Canada but many canadians think they are British or American They have a real funky and quite attractive lead singer who makes parts of my body feel funny I love songs like "Combat Baby" for example which is a great song that I thought would have break them out
I thought the same - but it is growing on me - kind of sounds like Imogene Heap (the music) edit: the same meaning doing nothing for him..

Not even close. Emily Haines has a rather nasal voice and her range is pretty limited.

did nothing for me !
