Yeah, this is a story of a famous dog
For the dog that chases its tail will be dizzy
These are clapping dogs, rhythmic dogs
Harmonic dogs, house dogs, street dogs
Dog of the world unite
Dancin' dogs
Yeah
Countin' dogs, funky dogs
Nasty dogs (Dog)

Atomic dog
Atomic dog

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Why must I feel like that
Oh, why must I chase the cat

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher

Do the dogcatcher, baby, do the dogcatcher
Ooh

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
The dog in me (Dog in me)
The dog is in me (Dog in me)

Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher
Do you wanna do the dogcatcher
Well, baby, why don't you do it again for me

Dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher

House-trained dogs
Wild dogs
Say it again

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat

This takes me back to the days of watching Night Flight on the USA network, which is where I first encountered this song. Given the number and variety of musicians I was exposed to by that series, it was a precursor to internet radio. Futuristic bow-wow, indeed.

What. . . ? On RP. . . ?
LOLOLOLOL - I almost fell off my chair when this came on!!! Classic!
I recommended this song a couple of years ago and got the "not likely" response. I guess things change. This song is credited by some for being a major early influence for rap music.

dude, you seriously need a lesson on differentiating between "disco" and ultra-classic and serious FUNK!!!
Absolutely! I was just listening to my upload of Lee Dorsey's "Yes We Can" and noticed this come up on the main playlist - from classic swamp funk to classic psychedelic funk! It's time to chair dance!!

I can't believe I missed it.. Please play it again, Mr. Musicman!
Love it or hate it, this song certainly brought a lot of RP listeners out to post a comment. I don't think I've seen so many posts after a songs first play. Personally, I love it!
