I saw these guys open at a U2 conference in Oakland way back about 20 years ago. I still don't know what to make of them. I must respectfully disagree with what some folks are saying about them lacking talent; IMHO they are talented (you try being a singer-songwriter and see how it goes...). But somehow it just never quite gels for me. I bought one CD years and years ago and that was it. I think it's because most of the songs felt like this...they just don't go anywhere.
Hehehe... encore for this one. Excelsior wrote:
I can just see the conversation backstage: "Hmm... we need to do this live now?" "Yeah... and without our usual heavy studio editing, I can't sing and you can't really play guitar." "Oh crap. Well, how about this: I'll just play a few really easy chords, and you scream something about being 'naked' at the top of your lungs, over and over again." "Um, why would we want to do that?" "Well, because sex sells. As soon as you shout the word 'naked,' every college-age kid who's paying more attention to their beer than to us will perk up and instinctively start whooping and cheering." "Brilliant! They'll never notice our lack of talent."
Anybody got any songscreen?
I think that when it comes to the BoDeans, I prefer Jethro.
Bravo! Author, author! Excelsior wrote:

It sounded a bit "tinny"

TMI for my tastes.

Small doses of well chosen BoDeans songs (such as this) are fine by me.

Their music is simple and beautiful, I saw them live and it was excellent. I learned to play the guitar with their music. My favorite song is Going Home!
b Pure derivative unoriginal boring dreck. Which could only be saved by an outstanding vocalist - not present here.

About the same number of £££s of ours that our lovely government have given those lovely people in Northern Rock. Who said 'incompetence'? I wonder if that is what's his name? Oh yes, Gordon Brown, on the drums...

Yes, I do. Thanks for uploading it.
If yer man wants someone to stay nekkid with himself, I surely hope that he looks an awful lot better than his voice sounds, otherwise he'll need a bed partner with a white stick...

there's a lot of nudity going on in this song...
Bad Springsteen? Maybe. Sounds like a male Melissa Etheridge to me. edit: Ah, Liser had the same idea first, I see reading to the end.
A really fine live band. Saw them so many years ago at Johns Hopkins University. Very simple stage, simple band, honest well-played music.
I think I like this - and it does sound kinda 80\'s kinda folk rock i can see this being played at a hog roast in the ontario north country on a hot august nite with way too much beer flowing maybe a strange scent in the air

Lewis Grizzard said that, here in the South, "naked" means that you don't have on any clothes. But "Nekkid" means that you don't have on any clothes and you're up to something. What's up, Rosie?
Watch out, Granny - them taters have eyes!!
Nasty. Sounds like Springsteen.
Hahahahaha! Sing is like finger. Happy happy.

This is the third song they've figured out. Hey, it's progress!
Hearing live versions of the Bodeans always brings about fond memories of Summerfest. Good tunes, good people, good times.
I love this and I don't really know why. It's raw and wonderful.

All that straining is gonna make him blow an o-ring.
make the wailing stop!
Really nice guitar work!!
this sucks so much. the quality is poor and it sounds like a bad 80s band at a cousin's wedding.
Great band to catch live if you can. Likeable tune. Thanks for the upload!

That quality, that nakedness, if you will, is exactly what works for me about this song. I give it a Most Excellent.

I hear Melissa Etheridge in here...don't know if I like it or not. Kinda strident.
