I'm a very quirky girl
Live in front of my tv
A million girls like me
I have no remote control
I can never change the world
So unreality is all I wanna' see

When nothing is real
When nothing is real
Evil is not taking over the universe
'Cause Superman is still standing
And nothing is real
When nothing is real
Another beautiful day in the neighborhood
And everyone is laughing on cue

I can always find my way
To the street of sesame
Sweep the clouds away
There's a baby in the sun
Little smile for everyone
He makes me wanna' feel
Makes me wanna' love again

But nothing is real
When nothing is real
Evil has not taken over the universe
Silver Towers are still standing
And nothing is real
When nothing is real
Another beautiful day in the neighborhood
And everyone is clapping on and on and on and on

I just saved the world today
Just turned on my T.V.

The first artist I downloaded when internet started ( at least at my place ). I think some of her songs could be legally downloaded from www.mp3.com.
That's where I first heard them as well, free legal downloads on mp3.com

What? I just hate this song and think its stupid. Gah! Am I not allowed to have a negative opinion? Damn.
During the early days of mp3.com, I got turned on to her song "I Will Love You" - an awesome piece of work!

Such hatred.
Gee, I wonder if one particular group is being singled out.

guess neatherthal reflexes bumped the rating by one or two.
i've heard lines from the sesame street song AND mr. roger's neighborhood!

Sounds to me like it's about the way television allows us to live comfortably in a manufactured reality. The single line that mentions "silver towers still standing" could be interchanged with any ugly truth we want to escape from.
Consider the previous lines: Evil has not taken over the universe Superman is still standing I think "Nothing Is Real" refers to the common feeling that she doesn't want to believe that the evil things happening are real, and would rather retreat to the make believe world on television.

Undistinguished pop.

I'm left cold by this song. Reminds me too much of the young, white, female American/Canadian popstars who are all over the charts, these days - and on nearly every radio channel. Argh.
anyone know where I can score valium and a dime bag? I bet these guys got the hook up.
Tori being backed by 311?
the vocalist sounds like Tori's older (saner?) sister.

Me, too. Fisher is one of the first indy artists with a decent website with downloadable mp3s. "I Will Love You" was my favorite back then...back in the Bronze Age of early '90s

The music isn't so bad, but I'm allergic to pretentious lyrics (I hope it's not pretentious of me to say that ;)
Great choice for the draw!
great to see Fisher on RP! I love her voice.
First! :) Sounds like a lot of other female artists out there, nothing too distinct. I'm going with a 6 for now...
