Don't walk the plank like I did
You will be dispensed with
When you've become inconvenient

Upon Harrowdown Hill
Near where you used to go to school
That's where I am
That's where I'm lying down

Did I fall or was I pushed?
Did I fall or was I pushed?
Then where's the blood?
Then where's the blood?

I'm coming home
I'm coming home
To make it all right
So dry your eyes

We think the same things at the same time
We just can't do anything about it
We think the same things at the same time
We just can't do anything about it

So don't ask me
Ask the ministry
So don't ask me
Ask the ministry

We think the same things at the same time
There are so many of us
So you can't count

Can you see me when I'm running?
Can you see me when I'm running?
Away from them
Away from them

I can't take their pressure
No one cares if you live or die
They just want me gone
They want me gone

I'm coming home
I'm coming home
To make it all right
So dry your eyes

We think the same things at the same time
We just can't do anything about it
We think the same things at the same time

There are too many of us
So you can't
There are too many of us
So you can't count

It has me led to the backroom
Harrowdown Hill
It has me led to the backroom
Harrowdown Hill

It was a slippery slippery slippery slope
It was a slippery slippery slippery slope
I feel me slipping in and out of consciousness
I feel me slipping in and out of consciousness
I feel me

Where's physicsgenius? PG needs to state how much it loves this song to put everyone off-kilter. Just googled "off kilter" and found that it's a Celtic Rock Band. Coincidence? Radiohead/off kilter/celtic rock I happen to like this song but unless it's a Jefferson Airplane ditty I'll pretty much enjoy it.
You know I saw Off Kilter play at Epcot in FL and while some things were typical of that kind of music, you couldn't deny the energy they were getting out of people. (Which is hard to do when people are walking around an amusement park and just happen to walk by your stage. ^_^)

There are a couple tracks on this album that made me ask "What was he thinking; This is terrible!" This song included, there may be 3 songs I liked. I bought it strictly because I'm a huge Radiohead fan. I was terribly disappointed.

I can. It's that lame Yessian syncopation. It just plain doesn't work against his voice, and I don't think his singing is horrible, but it is very dissonant with the musical concept. Bad idea.

First group here. I'm finding this really painful.

Tell when Thom isn't creepy? Give me a creepy Thom and I am happy. Don't know why. It's just great music.

I was going to make a negative comment but you guys have it covered golly
funny I actually thought this was Radiohead before I looked and saw the name.. I was like whoa... what?? In any case I dig this tune as much I dig Radiohead
It is funny the amount of people who love Radiohead but hate this song and the amount of people who seem to like this song and do not like Radiohead. I fall into the latter group. Keep opening my eyes RP.
Everything's off balance. Probably deliberately. I like to hear at least a couple of things that keep a song grounded.
Great song!
Sucks.

Just great music! That wishful and... uh... great!

I'm not one for negative comments but I really, really agree with this. . .his voice is just painful.

Just as terrible as Radiohead. No more!
For some reason I really disliked this song the first couple of times I heard it, but now I give it an 8. Is the rest of the album any good?
Sounds like late Joe Jackson. I'm benign on this.
in the background i'm hearing paul simon....'late in the evening....'

I am liking it. Background on the track at (click here) for those who are interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrowdown_Hill#Song_information
I sure wish this would never be played again anywhere.
Embarrassing. Erase it.
Whatever the intent of the song, I liked it... quite a bit

Sounds like Jack Black taught Thom inward singing for the ending.
Yup. It's a joke song. The joke is on the people who like it, not realizing they're supposed to laugh. Bitterly.
No guitars
Why is it Radiohead sets my teeth on edge but this is bearable? One of those little mysteries I'll have to ponder I guess.
Sounds like Jack Black taught Thom inward singing for the ending.

After listening to this song several times, I must admist, as a Radiohead fan, that I also find it grating and whiney.
make it stop
Hilarious. And awful.
Harrowing hell.
Whiny punk.

please. make. it. stop. My least fav song and RP has it in heavy rotation.
This is truly the only song that makes me mute Radio Paradise. The whiney-ness of this gets under my skin, poking and poking until I'm in a really bad bad mood.
Unintentionally funny. My favorite.

Made me turn my speakers up, I guess it's starting to resonate with me... Guess I have another CD to add to the list!

The little bitty background voice cracks me up every time. It's like he's a ventriloquist. The slippery slippery slippery slippery slope stuff is also nice and silly. This one gets an extra couple of points just for being unintentionally funny. A solid 3 with a bullet.
I just can't dig this at all...the music the singing the lyrics none of it.
great. greatgreatgreat. and nothing you can say will convince me otherwise.
Wow played on back to back days. Only about 25 hours apart.
This is a very cool song. Trust me on this one.

I've rated this song three times, each time a notch higher. There is something to be said for music that grows on you rather than the stuff that just fades away.........
i like radiohead but this song kinda bugs me... it's just not very good... boo.
This song is being played to much it's kind of annoying...maybe because it's early I dont know!
all you Radiohead fans don't know what to do with an upbeat song..LOL..it's actually not bad.
Icky. I really like Radiohead, but that was an unpleasant experience. Ooh. Much too much of this song.
Far too depressing for everyday listening - and right in the same mold as the last few RH discs. Definitely an acquired taste. I guess it's an intellectual failing of mine to not like recent RH stuff, but I don't. I guess if I wanted to wear black and sit in a dark coffeshop (or a vodka bar) and look cool, this would be the stuff that should be on the stereo. But it just seems pretentious to me.
geez that was awful

If this is Heresy, does that mean Radiohead is in Rome, and Thom Yorke is in Avignon?

ABSOLUTELY brilliant! Just what I need to hear.
Like the part that's Underworld-like! Other than that, he did much better with the Radiohead crew around.
so I did. very good me thinks.

I like it when the little voice speaks from the back of his throat, like a little man saying things he can't bring himself to say. Wait. Was that just in my imagination?

Well, if this intrigues you then you should check out Radiohead albums like Kid A and Amnesiac. Complicated and claustrophobic - in a good way!

Thanks much for the link; I found it very intersting. I love Radiohead, mostly because I'm a "sounds" guy (vs. a lyrics guy); it was helpful to me to read up about the lyrical message here...

Oh yeah. I could kind of deal with it if the lyrics or music were any good, but no dice there, either. 1

uninspiring.
While it's novel that they took the bass line from Eazy E's "Two Hard Mutha F..kkas" and modernized/pyschedlized it up some ... it's still on par with having 3 popscile sticks inserted in my ears.
*dances* I picked up this album yesterday!! yes use headphones.
Whiney AND hard to understand. YUK!
Use a headset >_>
I don't think I can give this a fair assessment sitting here in my little cube at work with the sound barely audible ... ... but I am intrigued.
Where's the howling cat emoticon?
I'm really liking this, its tight as hell, a definite groove and excellent vocals.
I love Radiohead, but this solo disc of Thom's is just totally dull. It sounds like a recycled Amnesiac.
