I'd say Pentangle were definitely a bit folky/jazzy - along the same lines as Mark Almond (not that one) and Tim Buckley perhaps.

I  listen to early jazz and it takes more concentration, Classical even more if you haven't been exposed to it.  I like them both to expand my thought process and let my mind drift.  There is great value in complex music above 2/4 and 4/4 time and 3 minute songs.

Sometimes music needs to be taken in context. It's a reflection of the time, but still shows remarkable musical ability and feeling. For those who heard it long ago, it brings back sweet memories. Thanks for playing this. Rating it 8, because it really wasn't their best work, but is still right up there.

Guess i grew up listening to extended solos..........this is a decent enough rendition had  I not listened to Ray Brown, Paul Chambers, Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke et al. 'Nuff said.

Danny Thompson on upright. He and Terry Cox on drums were the perfect complement to Jansch and Renbourn. Awesome band.

Edit: Sorry. Didn't mean to omit Jacqui McShee's vocals. She's not on this cut. Doh. {#Lol}

I also immensely disliked this song, and rated it a 1, which is my first 1 ever, but when I read the comment about the Yee-hee, it made me laugh.  So, I give this song a 1 and the comment a 9 for cheering up my day.    Paraphrasing Lyle Lovett, "What makes people friends is not that you like the same things, but that you hate the same things."

For many Christians anything that isn't "of Christ" is "of the Devil".  It's perfectly reasonable logic within the framework of that religion.

I LOVE Pentangle, but this is one of my least favourite tracks. It's all style (and "virtuosity") without enough melody. They produced so many great tracks where the balance was much more enjoyable - please can we hjave more of those in the future?

Wasn't this originally called "Jazz Odyssey"? I remember hearing this way back, in an amphitheater at a California amusement park. Kind of a "free-form jazz improvisation". Nigel Tufnel observed, "Jazz is just a series of mistakes without the "oops".

One of my favourites. Nice balance between guitars, drums and bass (Denny Thompson later played with John Martyn and Richard Thompson). Add song (Jacke McShee) to this and you get "I've got a feeling" or "Rain and snow". I would upload those, but right now these are stricktly vinyl.
