Story of my non Waking Life. I can only wish I was a fully lucid dreamer - then I'd have some control over pacing and content. While I am often conscious within my dreams that I am dreaming, and on occasion can change the course of a dream through lucid control, more often than not my nights are filled with an ongoing rollercoaster of hyper intense dreams in full Sensurround and Technicolor. Most mornings I wake up exhausted. I often find myself staggering into my morning routine with my inner jukebox playing this or I'm Tired (of Waking Up Tired)'.

Classic early psychedelia. There must have been something in the 1960s water to inspire band names alluding to fruit and other foods . Strawberry Alarm Clock, Moby Grape, Vanilla Fudge, Electric Prunes and more I could recall but for those dang 1968 soma peanut butter and jiffy  jelly flashbacks I keep having.

I'm not going to get all defensive about The Electric Prunes, but I'm balking at "one-hit wonder." The Prunes' Mass in F Minor was an original and influential work for its time — and I'm not religious.

Excellent selection. I was feeling a little bit electrically constipated, you know- out of touch with the deranged 60's 'me'... I did however used to believe this band was the salvation from the sickening surf music shit my band was forced to play, nonstop. Electric prunes must have been one weird trip.

The over 50s in the audience may remember one of the great moments in early TV advertising when a laxative ad inquired of prunes, "Is two too many; is one enough?" You can still get a chuckle from certain age groups with this line. And an interesting discussion of the effects of stewed prunes if you search for "is two too many, is one enough."

Used to know one of the guitarists in the Prunes, after he became a computer tech in Chico. Had great stories of their glory days, including a situation where the lead singer freaked out, tried to bail out of a tour, flew to LA, and was met at the airport by two large guys in suits who persuaded him that it was in his best interests to get back on the plane and fly back to finish the tour. Looks like they brought out a new album in 2004.
