Annoying.

Wow. I get not enjoying something, but that comment is sadly pretty ignorant.
Sorry, but this is quite virtuous and it is perfectly recorded, but it has no soul.
Holy Cow!

Pretty tone deaf comment on a music streaming service comment board. Dare you to say it in South Boston.

Close, but Ainu rather than African.  From Wiki:

Ainu are the indigenous people of the lands surrounding the Sea of Okhotsk, including Hokkaido Island, Northeast Honshu Island, Sakhalin Island, the Kuril Islands, the Kamchatka Peninsula and Khabarovsk Krai, before the arrival of the Yamato Japanese and Russians.

Kila is from Dublin. Oki is from Japan.

Lovin the album cover.
one song and I hear Japanese, Celtic, Aboriginal, and African sounds in here. Awesome.
This was the first song of 2021 (in the Eastern Time Zone)
I love the mix of sounds. mixed Japanese/Irish/English person here
Fascinating mixture of musical cultures.  I think it works well.
I'm hearing a little Beastie Boys riff in there...

I'd not known about the Japanese singer, which is interesting. This is in the same micro-niche as the Afro Celt Sound System, a fusion of celtic and African sounds and rhythms with a pretty varied mix of instruments. I only have the Scots Gàidhlig, not the Irish Gaeilge, but they're related languages and my guess to the title is 'not by myself'. Interesting and stimulating, for sure - 8 from the Nottingham jury.

The instrument that starts the song is a didgeridoo.

More than loving this song. <3

Yeah, I'm a world music fan, but this doesn't cut it. In this sub-genre, I would rather hear Baka Beyond or Afro Celt Sound System.

I really like this.

AGREED! {#Bananasplit}
One of the few times that the RP gets muted in my household.
It must be the incessant beat - like a woodpecker.

For those of you interested, that lovely cover art came from Peig Fairbrooks. The layout was done by Dublin based designer Dara Ní Bheacháin and the photo was taken by Marcelo Biglia - an Argentinian photographer who is now living in Dublin.

The album used some Ainu imagery, too, which I've always rather liked.

The penny whistle, flute and didgeridoo - very cool, but something's just off. Maybe they're trying to do too much at once? Or maybe I'm just too traditional when it comes to Mi Fein. Meh - Erin go braugh!

No one seems to like this one but me, but I think it's great!
I feel like I am in school in some kind of "Art Appreciation" class and trying to pretend to be interested and not fall asleep.

Okay, exactly how many instruments and styles from different cultures are put together here? 'cuz i feel like its a lot!
Cotton-eye Joe is all I hear now. Brilliant.

Every time I look up and see the name of this band, I see "Kookula & Olli!
Whoops. The very beginning had me anticipating The Who's Join Together. That would have been ok; this is really nice.
Beautiful song, does anyone understand the lyrics?
Nice pennywhistle!
I hope he's saying nice things.....I sure do like the music
Nice tune

sounds like a well played Jew's Harp
I like the Mini-Peter-Gabriel going, "ehh-hh" in the background. Calming. 7.

The instrument on "Join Together" is a jews harp, and I can't say for sure, but I think it's one here too. Look here for more info than you ever wanted to know: (click here)

pretty darn cool. something original..not that rp doesn't play original stuff, but this is a breath of fresh original and unusual air, even by rp standards your musical knowledge is worthy of admiration bill, and maybe even worship :)
Well, they're certainly mixing up the styles here: Celtic, Strine, Hispanic, and I'm not quite sure what the lyrics language is but the title is in Irish (a literal translation might be "not with me myself", though I only know the Scots Gaelic so wouldn't swear to it).

Not my style really, but I'm sure they are talented artists...just listen to that flute.
DAMN IT, BILL!! How can I get any work done around here, if you keep playing such great music? This is an office, not a playground!! Oh well, back to the Muzak...
